Since I've come back to SH3 I've been meaning to keep this thread updated with my patrol logs. Sorry but I've been too addicted again Just abouts to start patrol number 10. BDU decided that a nice training position would suit me well after patrol 8, I begged to differ. U-552 is my boat! Nobody else will run her whilst I have breath in my lungs.
Current career stats are. 228919 GRT of enemy ships, 192394 of that total are merchant, leaving 36525 of Warships. I definitely will post the logs from patrol number 10... maybe... If I don't go straight on to patrol 11 as soon as I can

Leutnant z. S. Franz Tromller commanding U-96.
Sure thought this patrol was going to be a dud. Things can get interesting real fast when a large convoy shows up. First attack went as good as it possibly could. Second, not so much. Seems the escorts were still a little upset from the first attack. Also found a depth-keeping problem at 200m. Boat started sinking out of control. Told the Chief to make sure that's fixed before the next patrol. We don't need to alert the escorts to our position just to maintain depth. But, we do know the U-96 will stand up to the pressure at 248m. CAPTAIN'S LOG 14.1.41. 2142 Patrol 2 U-96, 7th/13th Flotilla Left at: January 14, 1941, 21:42 From: St. Nazaire Mission Orders: Patrol grid DH48 Convoy attack. 30.1.41. 0632 Grid DH 47 Ship sunk!
