(Can't get Imgur to load so this'll have to wait a while for the picture)
ABV 4.2%; £1.39 from ALDI Moira got some of these for Halloween yesterday. A very good ale at a great price; I always wonder with these 'specials' whether it's simply one of their regular better beers with a fancy label stuck on (not that there's anything wrong with that)

Thanks, Jim... shame to waste the photo I'd taken with Moira's Halloween decorations, so here it is anyway

![]() ![]() This was lovely: almost clear as it poured but a pale lemon yellow in the glass. It settles over the tongue both sweet and bitter but with a definite citrus note. The label says it is brewed using sea buckthorn berries Cleethorpes is a famous coastal holiday resort here in Lincolnshire and this ale is part of a promotion of local craft beers

I wish there was a good consistent way to get beer from across the pond. Love the Irish stouts, and almost anything that I've had out of Belgium and Germany.
You guys brew better brews than we do.

Hoegaarden (pronounced "who-gar-den") is a decent wheat beer from Belgium. And since it's an InBev beer it's widely available at most grocery stores (at least in Virginia).

![]() ![]() I asked Moira to see if she could get me something strong today and she came up with this lovely stuff: it says "Dry hopped beer flavoured with rum infused oak chips" A dark golden colour, malty and hoppy, it's dry but not at all bitter and you can really taste the rum

![]() ![]() Not my usual kind of beer, this has a deep, toasted yet quite sweet flavour and a beautiful dark red colour It's brewed by our local brewery Batemans of Wainfleet, whose logo is the mill in which their ales are made. "Our beers are brewed by brewers, not accountants" is their slogan

![]() ![]() This is a lovely crisp, light and very bitter ale... more of a Summer drink, perhaps "We take pride in putting a smile on our customers' faces" (I have replaced the apostrophe correctly for them)

^ Was looking at that in Tesco just yesterday but didn't pull the trigger because the beer/lager is still on offer at £10 per case.

![]() ![]() Crisp and bitter like the "Quint Essential" above, but at the front end there's a delicious honey sweetness not present in the other one This was my favourite of the two
