I know the movie was in colour I guess it must be from the 60's.

Hey Markus,

I may be able to assist. There's a good site I go to where people enjoy finding out the names of movies for other people - very knowledgeable.

Is there anything else you can remember about the film? The nationality/language, the genre - comedy, drama etc, what time it was set, kind of ships: military or civilian, anything about the actors. Any detail no matter how small can really help.

Happy to help if I can.

The Russian Mafia take over a sleepy US town. But they didn't reckon with.......The Rat Rod Rockers

A small budget cult film. Enjoyable.

It was an American movie and the ships were civilians I think they were Yachts of some kind. Remember these two captain standing on outside the bridge giving honour while their yacht is sinking. They do not move.

I believe it was a kind of comedy.

A bit different, but similar scene in the movie Kind Hearts and Coronets (from about 1:20):

@ stork100

Thank you It was this movie I recall the scene where the captain give honour while the ship sinks and only his hat is floating.

I must have remembered wrong when I thought it was in colour it was a comedy though so this was correct.
I also remembered wrong when I wrote both captain.

Cool. Glad it could be found. I'd be interested to watch it myself sometime.

I have a question about this thread: are each of you actually watching the movies you list after you watch them?

My answer to that would be...yes but if not yet on general release, I intend doing so then.

Make sure that you watch this movie. I was filling up just watching the Special Features afterwards and Moira refuses to watch anything more tonight

The ultimate cautionary tale
