Well the guys I kill in Mount and Blade are either bandits or the enemy of the lord I happen to be serving at the time so no one is going to miss them.Plus I do my bit and sell the captured enemies into slavery it helps build character.

I am more of a slayer of bandits in M&B and Skyrim it is more fun and bandits fight back better than townspeople.Also especially in M&B you also get to collect whatever purse the bandits might have had from their activities prior to having the misfortune of bumping into my party.

True...but every once in a while in Skyrim i just need to blow off some steam, save, and see how many towns I can eliminate. I got through two towns at one point and then I was killed after I stepped off a short cliff into a Giant camp while running away.

Makes for good fun.

Most of the fun in these games is making up your own story anyway.

True indeed but the story I like to make up might not be the one that you like.My kind of blow off steam game would be a few missions in Rainbow Six 3 with that mod that improves everything.I'll roll solo and clear out the terrorists single handed and I like to play realistically so I set my weapon to semi auto and and double tap till my heart content.

Of course I enjoy every game I own be it Borderlands(1 and 2) or Torchlight II.

Here is a solo terrorist hunt run I did through the Canadian University map a while back MP5A2/10 suppressed(10mm version) I think I had a Glock 17 as my sidearm dont recall for certain.I will set my photo capture key as one of my side mouse buttons so I can press it with my thumb.The base game is very accurate when it comes to weapon behavior most SMGs fire from an open bolt so the first shot is usually off the MP5 has this tendency less but it still climbs so I use it on semi auto and sometimes on fully auto but only firing a two round burst because the third round from either burst mode or full auto is always high.

I do not know if you have this game but I bet it is right up your alley.

I freakin love Rainbow Six!

From the book...all the way through the games. I loved them all. My favorite has to be either the original or 3. I have the first one with Eagle Watch, the standalone expansion for Rogue Spear "Black Thorn", Rainbow Six Covert Ops: Essentials (includes a short game and a virtual CounterTerrorism class on disc 2...very cool stuff), R6:3 (xbox), R6:3 Black Arrow (XB), R6 Lockdown (XB...and yes...this is still a good one), R6 Critical Hour (XB), R6 Vegas 1+2 and I'm very eagerly awaiting the next one.

Still though....nothing beats the original R6-type gameplay where you have to plan it all out and stuff.

I try to teach my friends how to play it and so far I've succeeded in teaching one friend to play the Vegas games. Anybody can play the Vegas games. Everybody thinks I'm crazy for having a game that requires thinking. Oh well...

...their loss.

This is a seriously awesome game series and it saddens me that R6 Patriots has so many Dev Issues.

About the screenshots, I know that in R6:3 you have to be about equal to Chuck Norris or somewhere pretty good to be going solo.

But I play it on a different platform. That may have something to do with it.

And yes....that is the perfect game to "write your own story"...I used to do it all the time in R6 Rogue Spear: Black Thorn.

Don't really have to be Chuck Norris once you know the maps also the console version of RS:3 is much more arcadeish than the PC version.


I lost interest in RS and GR once they cut out all the "thinking" bits that made them fun.

Just remember that pixels also hurt.

For example this guy is thinking "so this is what it is like when soul meets body."




And this solider is all "if I hold my ear to the ground I will be able to hear the enemy coming".(note that soul meets body dude already has begun his out of body experience)


This guy has come to the realization that those where not Ukraine gypsy tears of bullet deflection but in fact they where Ukraine tears of boy was that guy stupid.

Have you got the Heroes Unleashed mod for GR1?

It's great. I highly recommend it...along with the Red Storm Rising Campaign Mod.

I do not have either of those but I have several mods for GR1.I'll look at those but I really dislike the mods that auto install into GR so I'll have to pass if they install that way.I like adding them in myself in the options that way when i want to change things up it is nice and simple.

A few that add weapons and others that add campaigns.


Weapons and gear only I have an HK mod a mod that adds in the FN SCAR rifles and some other FN stuff and one that adds several AK series rifles.Of course some of the
campaign mods also add weapons.

The site ghostrecon.net sells a set of 7 DVDs with every mod posted on their site it cost nearly $30.00 though I think it their way to get support for the site.The other thing is how many of those mods am I going to ever play? Not everything on the site peaks my interest.

Claiming Liberty.....Belarus,Russia,Ukraine,Kazakhstan
Udmurtia Spetsnaz......Russia the troops also speak Russian
MVD Osnaz

The last two are Russian conversions Udmurtia adds a pretty good campaign as Spetsnaz fighting against Chechen Islamists MVD is just a conversion that lets you play the original campaigns with Russian equipment and soldiers or you can overwrite another mod and only have Russian gear.

I know Heroes Unleashed has a lot of mods combined into one and it is one of the most popular mods for the game that exists.

It is I tried it yesterday some of the weapons are taken from Udmrtia Spetnaz because I have that one disabled right now but the weapons are present.I like how it gives the Ghosts more modern looking kit.

Anyway in Mount and Blade I have been doing fairly well I have several enterprises earning me coin and currently I am a free lancer I started in Kerghit and I have high horse riding and archery skills and lately I use either a heavy battle ax that is a dual use two handed/pole arm though I mainly use it two handed from horseback.

I also picked up an awl pike which is pretty nasty though it requires a bit more precision than ax which is pretty much swing away.

I raided a bandit camp the other day and forgot that i had the pike equipped which put me at slight disadvantage being on foot but I made do pretty well I stabbed the bosom(old time meaning "heart") of this bandit then I stabbed another bandit and then I shot another bandit in the face with an arrow.

Hah, indeed there is. Especially in a game like Chivalry, where you can watch
your foe's head fly clean off.

I downloaded the demo of that game on Steam. It looked kinda cool.

Yeah M&B is pretty cool and I just tired a mod called Floris and it made me shed tears of joy(not really but it is cool).Floris adds a lot to the base game one of the things I really like is the face and skin improvements now a guy from the desert looks like an Arab and a Nordic person looks Scandinavian so on so forth.

I started a new campaign as a guy named Salah Al-Din(aka Saladin) I know not very original but I had to create a Muslim name.

Chivalry I have not played primarily because as I understand it is mostly a multilayer game and I kind of prefer SP.It does look pretty good though.
Maybe when I get bored of the games I have now.Also I kind of like the Muslim type weaponry and I dont know if it has any.
