Oh I agree but if the article I posted a link to above is accurate and true, the ship being rendered defenceless with all her systems going offline, that would be of great concern to the US military I should imagine.

That's a rather big if. The source (Voltaire Network) was founded by Thierry Meyssan, best known for publishing all sorts of drivel about 9/11, along with other tinfoil-hattery.

From what little I know knocking all systems off line is not practical in today's US Navy and if it was true it would have been fixed in the last two years. If they have such a system to knock out a Aegis Combat System it would have harmed all of the other sensors that control the functions of a ship.

So I doubt the article is any where near the truth, plus the garbage about the crew being traumized by this event is just too much:
