Did you mean the people that play console games or was that directed at the developers or both?
Uh...i guess it was a bit of a strafing run there. But yea, the developers, the legions of console gamers - they can all chew torpex.

I'm in total agreement with Neal. Where's the pride in workmanship these days?

Count me in. Im all for a little polishing. With a legacy like the SH series is, it should be a priority to get ALL things right.

We will all benefit from it.

Here´s hoping.

Sounds about right Neal. If all those things are fixed, it will be a very good sim!

My problem is that I've noticed from UBI's past - when they patched SH3, they always seemed to break about as much as they fixed, so it became an issue of using which patch depending on what you wanted working or not. This is my major issue with their patching system.

If they don't get this one right though, it will probably be one of the last sims I buy from them. I'm tired of waiting for the next patch so that I can play a game in a working condition. My biggest complaint is the chronometer - How could a game ship without a critical component in a working state? I've gotten pretty good at guessing actual speeds, but still! Pathetic.

Radar works now but only when facing east

So maybe use it for 1/2 your lifetime ?

Hell yes it needs to be fixed.

I'm hesitant to just jump in and post as I'm somewhat an optimist. I don't know that the silence from Ubi truly indicates that there isn't something currently being worked on. It's not that I believe Neil is wrong in his instincts, it just could be that the Dev team has been given a gag order.

That being said... Should I be wrong; From my perspective as a consumer and my poor experiences with game play, it would be inconceivable that something isn't currently in the works towards fixing, AT A MINIMUM, the items that Neil has listed. Should it truly be the case that development has been suspended altogether, I would think that a class action lawsuit would be in order to, at a minimum, recoup the cost of purchase. (This logic would point back to a reason for a gag order.):hmm:

I've made my peace with the chronometer-I like doing it manually (not saying it shouldn't be fixed) but, for the AI merchant 'stop n' huddle' bit alone we need mode work done.

Default I wanna 1.3

Just to give my vote for 1.3 or more to fix the bugs. Not sure if its mentioned. Using the flak gun if I aim them to far up I just see the outside of the tub. Gar. Also the deck and flak gun repair. Even when damage gauge shows nothing they stay damaged. Good game UBI but if your not gonna back it up then I will be hesitant to buy UBI products again. Definantly won't pre-order if this one falls through. Just wait until the Wally Smiley puts it in the discount bin.

I'm in complete agreement. I haven't really played this game due to it's incomplete state. I have bought every game in the Silent Hunter series and I will continue if they patch this game to a complete state.

Thanks Neil and Ubi.

Default Patch It Please

The A.I. in SH4 is very weak. In SH3, at least the modded versions, the enemy ships will detect and fire on your raised periscope. In SH4, one can just steam around in circles firing torpedoes at will. Untill all the issues are resolved, SH4 is decidely a step backwards.
