A BIG thank you for your hard work GWX team

I have only one question:hmm:
What are the pros and cons of installing the SB_cameras_mod in GWX2.1?
I know what I get, but what will I miss (what will it break)?

Default GWX

Once again I am indebted all of the folks of the GXX teaqm and to all of the participants and hosts of Subsim. I began playing stock SHIII patched to 1.4 in Oct 07. I am still on my first career starting in Sept 39, and have survived 14 missions so far and am in Jan 41. Due to limitation on my desk top I have been reluctant to upgrade to GWX. This month was my big 65 birthday and along with Medicare and Social Security I got a new lap top fro my birthday. I immediately went to UBI and purchased a new download of SHIII and upgraded it to GXX, GXX2.1 and Cmdr 3.1. What a fantastic experience, I just began a new career out of Kiel last night, Aug 39, and am enroute to vic Shetland I slands. So far everything is absolutely great, I am looking forward to many hours of fruitful damage to the enemies of the Reich.

Without the assistance both directly and by reading the many posts I doubt if my experience with this simulatio would ever reach the many hours of enjoyment that I have experienced, nor will future experiences come closr to the potential of what they are today.

Thanks again and keep up the great work.

To thing came to mind during my experiences of upgrading:
1. I know that all envolved have been dedicated to keeping the Mods FREE, but I think that having an option to purchase a disk with the Mods for a modest price to cover the cost of making the disks, plus an amount that could either be put toward maintaining the SubSim site and well as costs encoured by the GWX team would not be unreasonable, and I for one would be more than happy to purchase a hard copy.
2. The manual at over 600 pages would be a lot more useful if it were available to purchase similar the the manual published by Dangerous Waers.

No doubt these have been considered in the past - - just adding my 2 cents.

Default Fumo-65 radar and type XXI

Is just me or is anyone else having a problem with the Fumo-65 radar on the type XXI? It has been an old complaint with me since the early days of SH III but with GWX 2.1 it has become down right annoying. When ever I chose the Fumo-65 in the past when the mission starts with the boat in the pen I get a message that the radar is destroyed and the radar antenna is destroyed and sur enough, the PPI is replaced by the old "volt meter" in the radar room. The problem is that in GWX 2.1 i can't down grade to the Fumo-61 which works so every type XXI mission under 2.1 is without radar. I had really gotten used to having that radar and would love to have it back, any suggestions?

BTW great extension, thanks for your hard work, really makes the play more interesting...except for the Fumo-65 bit...

If I add some extra stock SH3 based ships (and guns) or replace with them some ships from GWX2.1 will it work? or I'll have problems due to difference in damage models etc? Are GWX 2.1 units compatible with units from other mods for SHIII?

Again, I'm no expert in this area but BBW has done his best to ensure that GWX campaign files etc are generic as possible to support the further addition of extra ships as they become available. From my limited knowledge, each ship contains it's own damage model & variables so as long as you follow the naming convention used by the version of the game you wish to add them to, you shouldn't experience huge problems.

Default Number of torpedos on the XXI

Does the XXI carry 23 or 24 torpedos, the Ubi game book says 23 but I read on the internet they carry 24?

hey guys. great mod. quick question, i am reinstalling after having some issues. when i apply GWX 2.0 and the 2.1 patch, do i select the SH3 folder to install to?

Yes, I did send a message to the team at the address on the GWX web page, sorry.
Unfortunately, the XXI is the buggiest boat in SH3. Given that it is also pretty much unrealistic to use in the U-boat war, it received less (modding) attention by us, than all the other player U-boats.

As GWX 2.1 is our final organized release for SH3, there are no plans to review it further. Future, developmental concerns have shifted to the SH4 platform.

I'm sorry that it probably isn't what you would like to hear.
