@ Niki....
Are you prepared for the meet? Have you learned the club yet? Neil always insists that everyone sing it at the meets! Last edited by Onkel Neal; 08-13-08 at 07:37 AM. Reason: underlined link |

Looks like I will be able to make the drive over. Bringing a non-subsim buddy of mine. I suspect he won't be a non-subsimmer long. Wonder if he will mind if I ask to load my ZX-10R in the back. I hate going that long without a ride.

Yeah.. I remember Drebbel, Dargo and Menno leading that song on the USS Texas... I think they might have frightened some of the other tourists.... Still need to prepare the subsimmers for their visit http://www.ehow.com/how_2292251_speak-texan-accent.html By the way... it's spelled "Rique" |

Ah was borun in Dallas, but grew up in Laos Angelees. Of course I loast my Texan quickleh, but every time we'd go back home Ah'd pick it raht bake up agin.
Both those vidyos left off the most important word: Oal. Yew know, the stuff that makes Texas what it is; the stuff you pull up out of the ground? It's pernounced "oal". Ever now and then Ah used to run into folks who'd try to be Texan by talkin like a Georgian. Ah'd have to tell um: They say "Geoagia", we say "Georrrrgia". In Texas we have "R"s. Texans don't talk lahk southerners a'tall - Texans talk like Huckleberry Hound!

Change the "ing" to an "ang" when it is found within a word. Texans with a heavy accent don't "sing." They "sang." They don't have "things." They have "thangs." They don't eat "wings." They eat "wangs." WTH? They eat wangs? Aren't they thinking of San Fransisco? :rotfl:

When I was a boy visiting relatives in Dallas one of my uncles had a favorite expletive: "Godamoddy!"
It took me ten years before I finally realized what he had been saying all that time! :rotfl:
