The Spiteful would have had more of a show but by the time it came into service the jet era was on us and prop aircraft were coming to an end. The Seafang, though, did act as a development aircraft for the Supermarine Attacker, the Fleet Air Arms first jet aircraft, and probably the jet aircraft with the briefest time in service, quickly being superseded by the superior Sea Hawk and Sea Venom.

Sections of a Saturn V rocket leaving the plant to begin the journey to the Cape. As big as these sections are in this pic, it doesn't include the first stage, lol Puts it in perspective of just how big that rocket was!

This is a cool pic, and you're probably going to see variations of it over the next 24 hours, well done Space-X!

Interesting pics, Betonov - I seem to remember seeing something similar somewhere, in an article noting how the weight of footsoldiers kit has stayed more or less constant over the years.

One error though, the 1485 photo is wrongly labelled - it is most likely kit from the battle of Bosworth, during the Wars of the Roses. The English Civil Wars took place in 1642–1651 (on and off - historians often consider it three separate conflicts), and the battle of Naseby was one of the most significant.

I dunno, I think the War of the Roses could definitely be considered a civil war, but it's not the most common name by which it is known so it would make more sense to have labelled it differently.

Ah, and Naseby, up there with Marston Moor as key moments in the war.

I need to track down Cromwell and watch it again sometime.

Meanwhile in the Baltic Sea:

The USS Donald Cook gets a close visit from a pair of Su-24s.

EDIT: Some video to go with the pictures:

EDIT EDIT: Also, apparently a Ka-27 came over to play as well just before the Su-24s showed up.
