I played sh1, sh2(a dream come true, some missions I played over and over), and I got myself sh3. I didn't play it much cause yes, it was great, but some things were annoying me(sh4 I don't play, sorry yanks, das boot and all, sh1 was enuf). Some time ago, a month in fact, I downloaded 1.04 patch and accidentally(yes, pure curiosity) I typed mods for sh3. And I really, really stood surprised when I saw there are so many people liking das boot and u-boats and.. I was into some other games and mods, never thought there were mods for this type of game. I chose gwx 2.0(somehow telling me you are nuts for realism, and yes, I agree, the name, grey wolves was what won me over) for download and I must say I would download it solely for tipperary and for museum(I really like bismarck the way it is now and all those boats I read about in books), and only to write that gwx manual it takes time and time, not talking about stability of the mod and testing which must have been hard considering the game. I can only say you are madmen and thank you. I played for awhile, still trying to determine the speed of the boats correctly, but I must say it's fun now. This was the praise. Now I downloaded sh3 commander and I more or less figured it out(can I use seasonal waves or 2.0 or original gwx waves?). I found out about sh3 gen, it's interesting. My question is in fact does using those mods and programs makes the gwx game better and still stable, or it's not recomendable. I know what it says in manual, just thinking as a newbie you can answer me based on your experience. Thanks in advance. Also, I read about gwx 2.1. I totally agree with deck gun. I've read that it is more difficult to shoot with dg in gwx. I dunno, I sunk two ships with 50, 60 shells again. So, yes, you have to make it so that I or anyone use it only when it's really, really clear weather. A stabiliser for perscope would be great too, considering I read it was in reality..
P.S. I can really can call myself lucky, cause for developing a great mod for the game, it takes years and a great will and I found it when it is near perfect. Great mod! Just one more thing, I'm currently practicing shooting and I will not start a career while I have the ability to deck gun the whole fleet, so take your time, just not too much
P.S.S. I've noticed the weather didn't change, it bugs me that wind with 15m per second. Thats all. Cheers!

Using seasonal waves in SH3 Commander and SHGen with GWX2.0 is fine.

GWX2.1 will come equipped with a weather fix.

Excellent. No more day after day of zero visibility storms and rain I hope. I have been using the RealWeatherFix mod with GWX 2.0 which has helped my gaming experience.

Yeah...dual installs are used by many people

Install of Multiple Versions

1)Complete a fresh install of SH3 + 1.4b as normal.
2)Create a copy of the program folder & rename as required.
3)Install your mod of choice to the renamed version.
4)Create and rename shortcuts as required.
5)Use MultiSH3 to create separate save locations for each install.

SH3 Commander & Multiple Installs

It is recommended to have a separate install of Commander for each different install of SH3.
1)Install SH3Commander and rename the program folder to suit.
2)Rename each SH3Cmdr shortcut as required.
3)You will need to use the l: switch to point SH3Cmdr to the right installation.

Here's an example of the l: switch for dual installs, just tailor it to fit.....

Right click on the SH3Cmdr shortcut & choose properties.

I've used the dual install then MultiSH3; i've played with GWX and SH3 and saved a single mission just to very that it'all ok. and it is

About Sh3 commander, I've to install it in two separete subdirectory under SH3 and GWX and then modify the two shortcuts so each one point to the right subdir ????

FYI this will not work with SH3Cmdr R3.0. In R3.0 you set the path via SH3 Options. The /l: switch is no longer supported and will simply be ignored.

So all I've to do is instalilng SH3Cmdr R3.0 in two different subdir pointing via sh3 options to the two subdir where I've GWX and SH3 ?
