Good you got it working on your rig Beast and Quagmire

Yes there is a slight perfomance hit, mine is aproximately 2-3 fps. It's an AMD X2 dualcore 5200, 2 gb 800 mhz ram and an "old" X1950 pro, I bought the new CPU and ram and motherboard for 100 pounds

You are right that it does make the bowwake look ugly, but just to see the effect in game is so nice and now I can test on the halo / sun thing

BTW have anyone testing the beta noticed a performance hit when you zoom into a warship exploding? - I have a hunch that it's the old particle file from ROW's fault...

Allso Im strugling with oilslicks burning forever allso because of the ROW particle file and I don't have clue how to fix that, help appreciated guys! (or we will have to wait for Ducimus TM and see if he got it working.)

Well, that's the thing: I got it working, but I can't use it. I don't suffer a mild 2-3 FPS hit like you, I suffer a MASSIVE 10FPS hit which brings the numbers down from 23 to 13! So, no sun halo for me But it's ok, you've done such a great job with the colors that I can hardly complain about the lack of a silly halo

ETA: I was not aware they use pounds in Denmark. Aren't you still using Danska Kronor?

Thanks Beast! Yes you are right, but I don't suspect anyone to know the currency of such a tiny little dot on a map :rotfl: (But we won Tour De France some years ago and we have Michael Laudrup (Famous? football player)

Don't forget the Euro of '92 with the team drafted from their vacations! :rotfl:
And Lars Ulrich (well, you might not be so proud of him, now that I think of it! )

Hey letterboy,
It actually is not about the sunglare, it is the color of the sun when the sun gets close to the horizon. No worries though, Kriller is on it .

Hiya's,
Nvidia users..................

Nvidia in their wisdom fubared the last drivers (can't rem offhand which number but you could google etc)

anyways you lose the sunglare passed 4x settings

So use 4x and make sure the driver option "antialiasing gamma correction" is set to Off

Or you could drop back a few driver releases to fix the limiting 4x

I am using 169.09 but just checked as i type and there's a xp driver out 169.21

I've changed that many things on my rig i don't rem if i've tried this 169.21 lol

anyways maybe of use to some nvidia users

Ciao

Have fun

Kriller, I've been doing some more testing and I noticed something interesting...

The sonar station is not black in the U.S. subs, it appeared to only be an issue on the German version (can't remember which sub though).

This may be because I had the RSRD mod installed as well, but I am not sure. Heck, I may have uinstalled that mod while I was testing (I have been doing a lot of fidgeting with SH. hehe).

I will do some more testig tonight and report back more focused findings.

Hi Ark, thanks for the heads up, but we have a working camera now in the sonar room. Prologos fixed it, so I will post a link to it later today.

I've gotten completely lost on the Add-On (SH4 1.5) Mods.

What Pacific Environment Mod(s) and patches are needed/compatible. Are ANY ROW Mods needed or are all included in the PE mods?

Doolittle, if you go to the main page of this thread, you'll be directed to Kriller's latest work. Just install the yellow hi- lited downloads. His new work contains most, if not all of ROW, and then some. As for other 1.5 mods, RSRD was brought up to speed, but RFB and NSM are still in the works. There is also a German voice pack (the thread is on this on this first page) which uses SH3 voices in the German campaign.

Good deal. Thanks, Kriller!
