Tried and failed mate, had an idea one day. put an Alka Seltza tablet in it, give it a little gas, no go! Tried two, then three and so on. Complete disaster ! Had to buy a new toilet! Not recommended

I phoned my local tyre supplier yesterday to enquire if they were open today and was informed they would be at 8.30am and were allowing one car only into the garage at any time, driver was to stay within the car and have locking wheel nut at hand.

Arrives 8.25 am this morning and was pleasantly surprised to see I was the first arrival (the queuing started about fifteen minutes later).

Everything went to plan apart from the fact the tyre prices had increased by a fiver.

The car is due her first MOT 25th of next month but under recently introduce emergency legislation, any vehicle with a test date post 30th March has a six month extension. The vehicle owner is obviously still required to maintain the vehicle in a roadworthy condition.

A couple of well needed results me thinks.

Moira's got a gin collection (honest) and apart from the odd occasion when she invites me for a gin-tasting session, I am under strict orders not to go near it

PS: she just made a big fruit cake, so it's looking like I may be in luck again

Aye, could be quite interesting but I suspect the payments will only be ca;ci;ated on previously verified figures from an accountant or HMRC.

I wonder what will be the position for those who have just recently become self employed

5oz butter

5oz sugar

2 eggs

8oz self-raising flour

12oz mixed dried fruit (or less, according to preference)

2 oz glace cherries

use milk to mix to a dropping consistency

oven 160 degress C. for 45-60 mins

NUTS (almonds) on top if you wish

no rum in this one, but she just said you could soak the fruit in some if you wanted to
