That's the wind chill temp here Neal, supposed to be colder over the next 2 days. We have a chance to jump all the way up to 24 degrees above zero this weekend. Rub it in about the 77 degree temp down there,lol

I just located (online) the drummer from the band I was in over 30 years ago and he says he was talking to someone about me just the other day: I drew some cartoon caricatures of them back then and he says he just had them mounted and framed. We've got a lot of catching up to do...

I just emailed him a bunch of photos (I left and moved right away after I got married). They formed a new band called "Dakka Dakka Dakka", about which I think there are still scraps online, if you dig around.

Yes that's them... Andy (drummer) is on the left in both pictures. Been uploading some photos he's never seen this afternoon, so he can post them on his blog. He well remembers the night we narrowly escaped a lynching by an angry crowd in Cranbrook.

Just noticed a typo: Phil's name was "Alamo"... a cool name to have, I always thought. But I was very sad indeed to learn yesterday that he's no longer around; he was a lovely, gentle chap, and the last time I think I spoke to him at any length was when he came bowling up in his soccer kit as my wife-to-be and I passed a match being played at the Sports Ground in Tonbridge, just before I left the town for good. He bought me an ancient copy of "Flight" magazine once (I still have it) and was also the only one ever to return a borrowed LP to me.

Home today and trying to keep warm. Nasty day out there. Wind is gusting to 90 k and the wind is chill minus 30C this morning. And it's snowing.

Hope it's not like this next Friday. Catching a plane to Florida for the holidays.

It's nice, isn't it, when the mail comes at this time of year and one of the big handwritten ones is addressed just to you... not you and your other half.

I was excited to get one today and when I opened it I found inside a Patient's Copy of the letter my Bum Doctor wrote to my GP about my appointment a week ago.

He finished by saying "he knows he can get in touch directly if he is having problems with his arse" (I made that last bit of the sentence up)
