This last time, when I radioed in a convoy sighting, I did get congratulated for a good find and told I could break contact and RTB at my discretion, but every time I have radioed in a normal status report I've just been told to go patrol some other location and/or to conduct anti-shipping operations, and given a new objective star on my map - as you can see, it's getting a little crowded on there .

It's not a big deal - I was just curious if this was built-in logic to happen every single time, or if maybe it was just early war indecision on the part of HQ or something.

Default I think the game is set by the amount of ammo you have

For starter's the number of torpedo's you have usualy determin's your getting a new mission to do. Maybe a message can be set up liked to that to say return to base if you are under the number required to get a new mission.

The assignment of addition missions is controlled by the “DynamicMiss.cfg” file. The one that is provided in RSRDC is been modified to disable the assignment of “Special Ops” missions. All the remaining entries are “stock SH4”. If you don’t want any more missions, just stop reporting end.

I have a question for the people that use RSRDC, Do you wish me the reduce or remove these additional “Dynamic Missions”?

No, I would leave them.

i never realised special ops mission were disabled in this mod, it seems a shame that they're out as this is a good feature. what was your thinkin on disabling them and how can i renable them as they add a new layer to the game ala SH1.

disabling the ones like dropin teams in japan and stuff is silly but what about all the rest ie resupply etc

The "stock" Special Ops have been removed, new historically accurate special ops have been added. “Please” read the “Readme” to see what RSDRC does!

Ran into 2 Kongos and escorting task force off Camranh bay. 2 hits on one Kongo. Went deep and tried to follow as they were heading towad the bay. Dec 11 1941 21:37 all ships disappeared. Is that normal for an entire task force to despawn? Just the end of their programmed track?

I wouldn't want to see them removed - I was just hoping maybe there was some sort of "percentage chance" parameter that could be tweaked to lower the chance of getting another such mission when you send a status report, especially when you still haven't finished your current assignment. I guess as long as we know every radio report will spawn another assignment message, we could just stop sending patrol reports. However, I thought I'd read a while back that you really needed to send patrol reports while in your assigned zone to help the game trigger recognition that you've completed your patrol area assignment. If that's true, then we're in sort of a catch 22 here.

Again, not a big deal, and if it can't be tweaked to reduce the chances of getting these extra missions then so be it - I'd rather get them after every patrol report than not at all. But, if it could be tweaked to tone down the number of them, that would be great too.

I’ve made some changes to the “DynamicMiss.cfg” file for Phase 2, All the missions no longer have a 100% chance of Inclusion. About 50 % will remain at the stock value, how ever the remainder will now have a 75%, 65% or 50% chance for Inclusion. Also made some adjustments to the required amount of fuel and weapons for new mission assignments.

I assume what your asking me is how to remove the improved visual detection capability, if the answer is yes then:

Before installing RSRDC v110 for TM, go to the “Air” directory and remove the following files:

ADB_B5N2_Kate.sns
ADB_D3A1_VAL.sns
ADB_Kyushu_Q1W1.sns
AFB_A6M2_Zero.sns
AFS_F1M_Pete.sns
ALBS_G4M_Betty.sns
ALBS_H6K.sns
ALBS_H8K.sns

FYI

This capability plus some other improvements will be part of Phase2 of RSRDC

Default Release Date?

Hi all,

Not new here to Subsim but with a new rig I have been playing alot of SH4 in the past week, with RSRD. Is there a timeline on when phase two will become available? I apologize if this has been discussed, my perusal of the pages in this thread didn't reveal to me what I seek. Just curious, I have a boat in Brisbane that I'd like to take further into 1943 but as I understand it Phase one is curtailed for now in 1943. Thanks to the creator of RSRD, very much enjoy the effort on your part.

TIA,
Brian
