Thanks for the warm welcome and the help. I am sure to have a few more questions to ask as time passes. Silent Hunter 111 along with the MOD's really is a brilliant simulation. I have to admit though the though of really being in one of those tin cans or iron coffins for real scares the hell out of me.

Quick question
I checked my gramophone folder in the game now that i have put GW on and noticed they were not ogg files in there but mp3, and yet they now all play ok. Is this because there all now the same Bit Rate, in other words there all 128bps. Before i had all different rates ranging from 16 to 192. Again thanks for the help.

You have a great site i only meant to pop over and take a quick look but i was there for ages. There was so many great things to read and look at. Thank you for that link. Now i think its another late night for me, It's 1 am over here in UK but with my crew waiting i don't have a choice. Sleep is a luxury i can ill afford.

I don't think the bit rate makes any difference. I just checked my mp3's and the bit rates are all over the place, but somebody more knowledgable here could probably give a more definitive answer.

Welcome aboard!
