Q1 2007 .... That is just around the corner.... Sounds rushed to me.

Many games are taking a few years to complete, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Rushed???

Not really considering the base of the game is already there with SH3...which is the game engine they are using.

To be honest I will wait till it gets released and a few reviews come out before I rush in.Its really way to early to make any decisions yet based on a few cinematic/edited screenshots and a small trailer.

We were fooled once already with SH3 and all the hype/interviews and such that came before its release, and what did we get..a half finished product missing alot of what was said to be in and also one that needed the modding community to tear the game apart to fix alot of it themselves.

So I am not going to get over enthusiastic over this one until Ubi proves they are not just blowing smoke up our rear-ends and I see whether or not they actually deliver the goods this time.

I think those, like me, who were happy with SH111 with a few mods and patched to 1.4 will be happy with SH1V, because that's where I think SH4 will be at release. Those who were unhappy with SH111 will also be disappointed in SH1V. I think the Devs learned some lessons from SH111 that will find their way into SH1V, such as increased radio traffic etc.

The trailer had a quick shot of a plane in the air, and they said in the interview that major battles would be represented. That should include Coral Sea and Midway, and that means air battles; so you're wrong, they were mentioned.

well ... i didnt heard or read " air battles " ... and i saw no planes engaging each others but i must be wrong and SH4 must be perfect

the question that subsim made refered to "large scale naval battles" and in the reply the word " aircraft " doesnt appear ...

but i must be wrong and i really hope you are the owner of the supreme truth about this game

You're right, they don't mention 'air battles', but the trailer does show a plane being shot down. As I said, Midway is purely an air battle, and it's the most important battle of the war, so they should show it.

No need to get testy, and certainly no need to call me names (though I probably deserve it for other reasons).

So....you want as a US Sub Skipper to be sitting on your bridge, observing a major Air Battle? Watching carrier planes take off and land? Awesome Air Duels and Dogfights? While sipping coffee maybe?

Would a real US WWII Sub Skipper be watching all of that???

You need to get a Flight Sim......

I enjoyed playing SH3 it wasn't perfect but who cares. I will buy SH4, I'm sure it will be a good game, as with SH3 I won't be expecting it to be perfect but I am looking forward for lifeguard duties off Truk and hope to see the planes being shot down and then picking up the downed aviators.

I like the fact that they will not be modeling other compartments of the Sub for the player to visit. That would just slow down development, and a skipper would spend most of his time in the command areas and his cabin anyway.

To early to tell from a small vid and a few screenies
I'll wait till they release a propper ingame vid and few of the new options discribed in more detail..if that fails i'll wait till some of you guys have got it and posted your review of the game rather than reading a review in a pc mag..as you guys KNOW what you are talking about

If the game falls way short i think i'll be modding it with GW ( if still interested ) or getting another game out roughly the same time as SH4's release... BattleStation: Midway

No Japanese Subs....

No additional internal sub compartments added....

No concrete evidence of "Living" Ports....

Only a "Possibility" of Wolfpacks making it in....

So is this SHIII all over again but with prettier graphics to tax my already overtaxed PC?

Aren't these Dev's even listening to the community????

SH4 also gets an improved campaign engine, special missions, improved crew management, constant interaction with COMSUBPAC and better multiplayer. Sounds very good so far!
