Oh well...

I guess I just wont buy ANY product that Take2 Interactive releases ever again. Shame on them for supporting a bunch of money hungry, idea snatching, copy and pasting, bastards.

Trust me folks, don't waste $15 bucks on this crap. SHIII + FREE GreyWolves has soooo much more to offer with better visuals and gameplay to boot.

SheFreak72, I am serious, you will get ripped off if you buy it since it is all on here for free. It MIGHT be worth it if you had a piss poor internet connection and downloading GreyWolves or any other mod takes you forever to do. But even then I think I would invest my $15 on getting a better internet service provider with broadband capability and download the free mods and be able to surf the net and grab up other mods for other games and to be able to play multiplayer games online with no lag. It pays off and saves you money to have speed on your side

Every piece of text and code inside the files that came with SHIII is UBI´s. We can mod them, but without UBI´s permission to do so, something like X1 can take them and sell them. Hell, take could even take the whole TGW mod and make cover art for it and put to shelves. They have permission to mod the files, we dont.
Even if X1 have permission, they have it for selling the stuff they modified themselves. There are some things like original textures, models, text which does not and can't belong to UBI. F.e. they had to take away some additions to a campaign written by Nico because he threatened to sue them. Unfortunately, some modders did not even know that X1 took their stuff so they could not act in time.

Even that is a non issue as I can bet that someone here who does have either GW or the NYGM mod would be more than willing to burn them to a CD/DVD and ship it to the person.

Unreal tournament titles are pretty supportive as well with the modders. They had a mod competition not long ago and winners get a share of 1 million dollars! $350,000 in highend PC's $30,000 in the Maya software plus many other prises. The Red Orchestra mod has won 4 titles. So really is this there way of saying thanks to modders for modding there game. I reckon if the mod is good enough to be taken by the owners and packaged as a add on then the modders should get a percentage of the sales earnings.

Agreed! That there is just plain wrong! I hope they get robbed or something cuz of an article saying like: take 2 and Ubisoft makes millions upon millions for using modder`s content without doing anything to it themselfes"

But seriously! Ubisoft releases ****ty ALPHA GAMES and puts COMMUNITY on modding it, then Ubisoft STEALS the GAME that the MODDERS MADE 1 year after the ALPHA GAME got out, and sell it for same price as the ALPHA GAME now costs..

My deepest compasion goes to the modders that suffers because of this.
Not only did they fooled us all. They STABBED US in the back! I wont buy that **** for a buck, I keep to MODDERS quality, not Ubisoft`s INCOMPETENCE!

Salute!

Default Looks identical to the same name CD at GMX, in UK

Half the price though. I wonder if they included the add-on's patch? I've used it, and I much prefer Grey Wolves, which is the real deal. It does have a nice VII skin, dazzle camoflage in green and grey that I think is one of Church's early skins.

SEAWOLVES: SUBMARINES ON HUNT at GMX description looks indentical and name is same, only box art looks different.

New campaign script, new missions, new sounds and graphics
Fixes to DD hydrophones
New campaign script, new missions, new sounds and graphics
Fixes to DD hydrophones
Roughly sixty new cities, including ports and industry

New objects including ships, search lights, bunkers, minefields and air defenses
Enhancements to sub interior and exterior
Stationary ships in harbors and harbor patrols
Historical activity such as Dunkirk, Dieppe and D-Day
New radio messages
Escorts out of hazardous harbors
Maps showing French harbors and the PTO grid
22 single missions and four multiplayer missions
Tutorial for Fire a Spread and Attacking a Convoy
And much much more...

Both EBGames and Gamestop are not big into the PC market like they use to be. Im sure unless somebody pre-orders it very few copies will hit stores. Even if they get a few its not like they are going to sell like hot cakes.

Its still wrong though...greed wins the day.

This, Herren, is what is defined under the United States criminal code as being fraud, intellectual property copyright infringement, and theft of intellectual property, all of which are considered white-collar crimes, and punishable with heavy fines in excess of $50 million USD and prison sentences of up to 10 years in a medium security prison. Personally, I think the mashug'na goyim bastards who do this ought to be put in a federal Supermax lockup for life without parole.

Ok, ok ... you've all convinced me. Now, who can send me a GW CD/DVD? If you prefer, you can contact me via email: sweepster@ev1.net

I'm in the US. Thanks!

Totally agree!
Im not an expert on this field but i have picked up that Ubisoft seldom releases patches. And without modders, gamers would lose interest much sooner.

I havent installed GW yet though, but ive noticed that everyone likes it. What is the main difference btw? Will i notice any changes while playing?

Keep up the good work modders ....even if i dont have a clue bout the improvements:p

First, you will see large amounts of traffic in your home harbor (and all other harbors as well); ships moored, ships coming and going, a flotengebleiter to lead you through the friendly minefields and sub nets, and friendly fighters patroling overhead. Inside the dials and gauges are redone to look like they really did. Many of the sound files are changed, using much more realistic-sounding voices and noises. The sea and sky both look better.

Second, enemy behavior is more realistic. Destroyers may be even tougher than they were in the stock game, or they may drive right by without noticing you. Merchants are tougher to sink, and take longer to go down as well. Depth charges are less powerful, having to be closer to you to do damage (this is historically accurate, so don't argue with me:p ). Planes attack in smaller groups but are tougher and deadlier.

Third, there are several optional mods. If you're into hardcore realism you can have it so ships don't appear on the maps at all unless you pass the cursor over them and tag them, and even then it will only say "unknown" unless you mark them with the UZO/periscope. There is an optional graphics mod that makes the sea bottom much more realistic, but it's hard on the PC (which is why it's optional).

Many more goodies I can't remember offhand, but lots of cool stuff.

SS, better but not near good enough, IMO.
The DDs are either too weak or too strong depending on how one tweaks the files (AI_Senors and Sim cfg mostly). I have been going back and forth getting closer and closer to the balance but am still not happy and no one that has released a mod, RUB, SW, GW, NYGM have come close on this point.
Unless someone finds the balance before me (and I would be delighted) I will keep pushing because it is just not there yet. No ones including mine

As for SW-X1 the first release along with the same old cry babies should be history both for crying and considering installing. GW and NYGM are much better.

Seawolves Mediterranean however, is very worth while and I laugh at those <Bleep>, yes <Bleep> that say why buy it when you can get it free because much is not available anywhere but in that add on and having it I know this for a fact

Whether it is worthwhile to you is your choice but even those that have GW-NYGM could install a separate SW-Med and it is different enough to have as a varied experience.
Don't buy it, no one cares but never having had it and knowing what is or is not in it is ridiculous.
If you say you don’t like the people and won’t support them I understand but to say you know what is in it and comment to that shows you are ignorant.
There is one frigate in stock, RUB, GW or NYGM. There are 4 in SW Med as one example of many.
To me a campaign out of Salamis is much better than La Spezia but that is my opinion.
For Med play SW is much better as is the Black Sea but I must admit I never played SW-Med in the Atlantic and my version of GW is more a visual GW as the play I have completely redone with all the convoys and sensors, weapons etc tweaked as IMO, it was all wrong.
But, as we all have an opinion I am sure others rightly feel different and isn’t it nice we can have just what we want.
So, why bash people that want something you don’t?
