You got a carrier, Tarjak? Lucky, all I managed to get was a light cruiser.......things got worse when I tried to hide behind the cruiser from the DDs approaching, 4 of them along with 3 PT boats. They could barely get to me, though I ended up between a cruiser and a subnet, very difficult to get out of. Also a shock when I finally realized why none of my torpedoes were hitting the tanker I was aiming for .....Getting in was the hardest, first the weather is so bad that a DE comes out of nowhere, then almost used up all of my battery sneaking in, but i managed to get back to port.

Default gibraltar viic

I started from lorient and had orders to ptrol inside meditteranean.i still used viic type and managed to pass gibraltar.this place is full of destroyers.you must try passing submerged and you mus try running deep.there is a possibility 90% to die.watch the sonar, run deep and silent and when you can increase your speed so you wont run out of air.if you have decoys is a little bit easier.be careful!

Default Tip for getting through the straits unmolested

Ive been able to do the run both ways several times now in all sorts of weather. Don't try it in 1943 though cos the patrols are very hard to get past.

I've been able to do a night surface run along the African coast. Get to within a km of shore though cos some of the DD patrols skip over for a quick look. Daylight only works underwater. Again if you hug the African coast you should see fewer DD's in the strait except at the narrowest points.
