Am on my 41st career mission with my VIIB. I came across a convoy which I sunk a few ships out of and got away clean without the 3 Flower Corvettes and an Armed Trawler bothering me. However, in the convoy was a Passenger Liner, but it was too close to me. Anyway, my question is: In May 43 can I sink a Passenger Liner if I come across one that is within the firing distance?

Thanks Highbury, that's all I wanted to know. It went past so fast because I was in the process of sinking a COastal Merchant so I didn't get a chance to see the flag, but it was also nighttime, like 2 AM.

If it's under armed escort ie in a convoy too right, I wouldn't think twice "sink her"

I had to let it go, because it was too close to fire at it (100 m) and the Flower Corvette was coming toward it and I had other merchants for me to attack and I was at all stop.

The game simply only recognizes if it is an enemy or not. State (ie. in convoy) means nothing. Same with the "Don't attack the French" or "Don't attack British Warships" messages early on... just atmosphere.. the game sees them as enemy tonnage pure and simple. |

Date is 1940 november, big convoy with passenger liner smack bang in the middle,
blacked out and zagging. Trailed her for 4 hours in the dark but couldnt get close due to escorts, fired a couple of torpedos at extreme range hitting the passenger liner in the propellor area slowing her right down. Finished her off with another 4 torpedoes was thinking I was in king of the hill. Unfortunately it was an American Passenger Liner. Arrrgghhhh was not impressed when I saw the Nuetral tonnage I had sunk. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

My rule is No Neutrals. Sink it if it's your enemy (or if it will become one later, like the USA). If the convoy is neutral and attacks you (for some reason, they did that to me, and they were Mexican!) go ahead and blow them out of the water. I've only sunk 2 in my career.
