very true. if you must, hit them from range by yourself, but really unless it is a huge convoy you want to just annihalate on your own time, it's not really worth taking out escorts, especially by midwar there are at least 3 or 4 and deck gunning wouldn't be feasible. heck i wouldn't waste a fish on anything smaller than a T3 or C3 nowadays... it's not worth the fish really.

If it was real life, I doubt it. You could put quite a few rounds into a corvette before it sinks. One hit, and your u-boat is now a surface ship, with a hole in it.
