yes AOD works perfectly with dosbox.65...you might need to get a pre-configured AOD version, there's a link at the dosbox site.

I have always wonder why some people do thing like that?

If he or her, is somehow dissatisfied with this forum, why don't they just leave quietly?

You know what, I still havn't made up my mind about that, I'm finding it all so very confusing
I see some comments about resolution and the fact it's a DOS game, don't forget graphics have nothing to do on how good a game is.
Heck, I remember playing a very immersive/realistic WWI flight sim on pen and paper!

I still played AOD while playing SHII, mainly because SHII had no career mode, and I consider that the deciding factor.

SHIII does, and with all the mods and tools I've installed I'm happy as a clam. You couldn't pay me to go back. Well, if you paid me I might, but...

SH2 did have a career mode Steve, just a canned career not what we have now.

Hmmm. I'm still wary of SHIII due to the Starforce thing, so I'm sympathetic when someone goes back to AOD. I might get DOS box and install AOD and SHI if it's not too complicated. That's the big thing - if getting an old game to work on DOS box takes too many steps then it's just not worth it to me.

Meanwhile I'm playing SHII.

But I'm edging closer to SHIII - I'm hoping they'll introduce a Starforce-free "gold" edition.

Okay... As a SH3 noob... I can forgive someone droping back to AOD as it was my *favorite* sub game until now. I was extremely depressed when I upgraded the PC/OS and found I could not get it to work. After many hours of effort, I threw away the game, and moved on to WWII air sims (after many tears lossed).

I still am a very noobish player on SHIII as I have not had the time to play, but AOD *was* the bomb in it's day.

Some day when work stops intruding into my real life, I expect to be a good sub captain..... and I may still re-buy AOD to have something lite to have fun with.
