Well, certainly it is NOT a problem, but... sometimes I think the problem is there are some essential bugs or things that could be made better, though... mostly, they`re too complex or problematic. The infamous bug of XXI SNorkel radar for example. I wish it was solved, but despite of best efforts it hasn`t been made so far.

By the way, another thing I`m thinking of is some change to the U Boot damage model.
What annoys me is:
repair times
-almost no leaking or no leaking at all ( considering the place of fuel storage, the leaking should be somehow common damage )
-if your steering is jammed by the DC explosions, you cannot turn and move only STRAIGHT forward. Technically, you should move in the way forced by the position of jammed steering
-I`m not sure about the depth rudder; if their damage causes problems with changes of the depth and so on
-I suppose steering should be available for repair only when surfaced - I presume that it SHOULD be hard, to say the least, to repair external thingy from submerged U Boot.
-Hydrophone should be, as I presume, more fragile and more exposed to damaqe from DCs.

.... so much so far. Perhaps it IS some mod idea, to improve this issues ?

I agree the leaking issue always has bugged me as well...Aces of Deep had an excellent leaking model. As your hull integrity depleted you would leak more. This would affect how deep you went based on how much water was entering the boat from the leaks and the surrounding water pressure. The more problematic the leaks the more you depended on your pumps working to push the water out. If the amount of water entering boat would exceed that of the pumps pushing it out the weight of water would eventually cause your ship to sink more requiring you to use more ballast to compensate. Once your ballast would deplete it would force you to surface to make repairs. If too much water entered you were on your way to bottom. This caused you to always monitor the state of your boat and it was a challenge while trying to stay submerged enough to evade depth charges, enemy, and the like...yet shallow enough not to be overwhelmed by water from the leaks...

I remember some instances in Aces of the Deep that even when you surfaced you had so much leaking that couldn't be patched that you had to rush back to port for repairs to save the ship....otherwise the ship would sink again ...especially if the pumps failed while leaking...and this forced you to abandon ship.....It was times like this where your leaks were so great that you had to spend the rest of the trip home on the surface....if you dove only to periscope depth you would sink never to return to surface again....and the more you played the game the more your learned how many leaks could be tollerated at each depth based on this behavior....it also caused you to reexamine your navigational course...to find a better route home that could be handled by traveling on the surface....in SH3 this would be excellent with air traffic and other obsticles you encounter along the way...Aces didn't have these obsticles so the only challenge was trying to make it home without sinking again....

Somehow this leaking issue needs to be addressed (although I think its beyond anythign a mod can do).....you can have 20% hull integrity yet no leaks or flooding at all....I can understand being at surface and having the ship dry maybe by pumps working and no pressure forcing it in....but, the deeper you go again the ship should show signs of the leaks again....which they dont because you see this dry uboat scenerio again. Even a sub with 100% hull integrity should be leaking while submerged...all subs leak its just amount of how much can be tollerated. I never have experienced pump failure in SH3 but, if there is a case of it. It should show signs of minor flooding even if its not threatening the life of the boat to illustrate the fact that all ships leak and need pumps to stay submerged for long periods of time. Heck even surface vessels need them...that is why you have a bilge pump...

As far as Repair Times XXi,
this has been addressed with the Hollywood Advanced RUB mod. It lengthens your repair times so it takes hours or days instead of minutes to repair equipment and compartments. So there is a chance of being stuck on bottom in the event of too much flooding and running out of air if repairs arent completed in time. He also has a fatigue model that you can use with it...that will exhaust the crew as they work forcing you to give them rest periods during repairs.

I think what could be modded in the captain's quarters is the little things, coffee mugs, maps and posters on the walls, the things that got added in SHII.
