The fact that they are seen on Gamespy and that they could also have open rooms, a sort of "Come and have a go is you think you're hard enough type thing."
Don't you have to subscribe to made your own rooms?

Well, I don't know if you have to pay for a private room in Gamespy but for sure not in Hyperlobby. You simply protect the room with a password...

No

You have to subscribe to GameSpy anyway to use it. If you don't pay you get some adverts every now and then, but other than that you can create your own rooms.

How do you think people make rooms for people to play in.

You can add passwords to lock them.

If you pay you get some extra stuff which I don't know if you need if you just go for a game then leave.

The CADC is easily the best tool for finding AND playing *quality* DW MP games.

The reasons:

1) Postable Events and Openings Calender

2) Built in Messaging

3) FlashChat (as good as ICQ or any lobby without any overhead other than a browser, flash, and CADC membership).

4) A place to record AAR's, have a dicussion of tactics, and share the mission file and replays themselves as attached files

5) A bunch of killas hanging around...

The only thing the CADC does not have is a formalized way of keeping statistics for matches.

Serious thought has to be done before this is undertaken. Unless I have already missed it or something like it, we should have an open discussion about this over at the CADC some time live.

Regardless, places like the CADC are the wave of the future for games such as DW.

In my mind, it is the ideal prototype for what will become necessary for increasingly complex simulations to thrive in gaming communities. Oneshot deserves much credit for his work and dedication to this cause.
