What I plan to do is get all my models which can replace existing DW models, put them in a pack with instructions on how to swap the old models for the new ones.
I am waiting for the Type 23 from TLAM first and then I will put it together. |

Anyway now I have time I'm going to do it like this.
All the models I made that can replace existing DW models I am going to put in a pack. They will be: Foxtrot SS Type 23 Type 42 Oscar II Typhoon (Not SCX version but I a newer one I did. Has more detail around the stern and basic paint job.) Han. I alos have unpainted Akulas but the doors aren't working right. I also have an unpainted 688, both i and VLS. Looks a lot better but is anyone interested if the doors don't work. Seawolf. Doors haven't been added to this as it is the existing SCX model I did, anyone interested? Again mast positions and sail position will have to be checked. Need to trawl through other stuff I have. Anyway whjat I'll do is make a downloadable file iwth an installation batch file and the needed compression file. I'll also write straightfowared instructions on how to change the name in the editor of each replacement unit and also how to sort out any animation bits and bobs. So TLAM, if you don't mind Type 23 ... |

I got sufficent images for the Type 23 (I think) and I'm sorting out whats what on the maps when ever I have time. Were you going to do anything with the VLS hatches or should I just paint them on?
Also Xabba I'm going to see if reducing the size of the bmps by about 50% improves performance. Right now (at least on my machine) it takes a few seconds to load each model. So I maybe sending you new Foxtrot BMPs soon. EDIT: I changed all but two of the Foxtrot BMPs, reducing them by 50% or more and the load time droped from 11 second to about 5. I'll fiddle a little more and see just how low I can get it without compramising quality. Xabba on your next model try to keep the BMPs to around 2 or three for a submarine. :hmm: |

Just paint the VLS hatches.
The bmps are 1024 x 1024 which was requested so more detail could be added. I usually only do a big map for large area stuff. If you can do it without losing detail fine but most maps I creat now are 1024 x 1024 so that painters can add small details. |

1024 x 1024 is fine for the hull but when you do the boat's radio mast (or is it a snorkel on a Foxtrot) or screws as a single 1024 x 1024 map it’s a huge waste of space.
