Bit modern (and some of the purists here may say a bit trashy) but I like Patrick Robinsons books, especially Nimitz Class. Fair bit of submarine action in there too.

you guys have to read
"Night of the Uboats" by Lund and Lundlam..

Its the story about convoy SC7-which we know was one of the most costly sea battles involving convoys. I believe 20 ships went down from the convoy, and 2 uboats.. I JUST got it in the mail today and cannot wait to read it..

Its from the perspectives of the escorts i believe...
