Or just do as I do. Turn down the light in the room where your computer is located. Keep some desklight to see keyboard and mouse (and offscreen notes, if you keep them), and turn off all other lighting. Works very well.

While i agree night is supposed to be dark, theres a point when its just TOO dark. I think it depends on your monitor and video card. Some monitors (like mine) are just naturally darker. I have my contrast and brightness at like 90 out of 100, sometimes maxed and it makes little difference. Gamma correction in SH3 for my ATI card doesnt seem to work. I can pump up the 3d gamma settings as much as i like, but when im in game, no matter where i set it at (even if it would completely white wash another game), sh3 remains at a certain darkness level.
Kinda sucks, so brighter sky textures definatly help. |
