What is the fuss about? Nothing spectaular with those jokes. Any guy have heard worse jokes than that countless of times.

Are you a woman by any chance? I can understand your reaction then, in these days of feminism.

And yes the movie was made in the 80s, Kiwi_2005, but it was all taken from a book written in the 70s, by a man who was on real u-boats in the 40s.
In the real U96 aswell. There was a thread on ubi.com forums, where some guy posted photos aboard the U96 taken by the Buchheim.

Too bad I couldn´t find the thread, those photos were amazing!

Edit: Here´s the link to that thread: http://forums.ubi.com/groupee/forums...743#8631071743

Every photo expect that big explosion is taken aboard the U-96

Ps. Before someone will start the "That´s not the U96! Theres no laughing swordfish"- thing:

And just think; in his pictorial book "U-Boat War", it's said he took *5000* photos.......unfortunately, only a fraction survived the war, afterwards, etc.

That's what we're seeing; that fraction.

I AM watching it in german with english subtitles btw. And it's not that I'm offended, its just that I wanted to watch this movie with my old man and I dont think he will appreciate the language.
I talk like that around the house all the time. Anyone ever heard of "word salad"?

Me and my friends dance like that too! After many many many beers. Usually you couldn´t get me to dancefloor even if you threat me with a shotgun.

Ive been a military fire fighter fot the past 18 years. One thing I can tell you is when you stick a bunch of guys together for any extended period of time we start to de-evolve into our primitive barbarous states. Some of the things we say around here could curdle milk. Maturity level goes way down too. I mean, come on, We're a bunch of grown men that still get a laugh out of a good fart.

I saw a bloopers show once that featured that scene..it "was" one of the Pink Panther movies. Anyway...they had to do about 50 takes to do that scene...everyone in the elevator cracked up whenever they did the fart sound. They then tried to do something to warn the actors it was coming so that they wouldn't laugh....didn't work. They then did it without any sounds at all. They still all cracked up at the thought of it...and Peter Seller's face looking around the elevator.

Classic.
