After playing this game for many months, I finaly got to award two wound badges yesterday . I heard "ship spotted!" and got up on deck intime to see a Elco gun down my watch crew

My number 1 wish is for SH3 is a simple one:

Allow me to have a dynamic logbook that I can type into while underway, preferably with a handwriting font.

I tried to get some of those desktop Quick-Notes type software to pop-up in SH3 but haven’t been successful. Alt-tabbing to write in them is not practicable either as it tends to mess-up the chart-table in my sub interior as well as it’s inconvenient.

I’m left with typing on my laptop while sailing on the desktop…. Hmmm…

Having a note-taking tool inside SH3 would be the ultimate mod add-on for me…

Something like this is in the works, but you have to alt-tab to use it. Sorry, this is a limitation of SH3, and can't be worked around AFIK. This application currently integrates notes you take during a patrol with the patrol log and is output in html format (or text if you want to use something like phpbb). This is an example:

Sample Patrol Log

I had one with a handwriting font, but changed because it was too hard to read. It could be an easy option though.

This "Alt-Tab" will rear its ugly head and there be more curse threads than starforce ones. Still i'll try it. At the moment if i use alt-Tab nothing serious happens, sh3 just goes to the taskbar, but if i start typing out a log in your one then i think im gonna see CTD or BSOD.

Are you looking for testers? i

Looks good Observer.
Will these notes be integrated into SH3 Commander and be accessed similiar to the commander's profile.

Default ENGINE CONTROLS

I would like to see port and starboard controls to do tight moves in enemy harbors or in other tight spots and to be able to order my gun crews on deck in weather worse than5 meters

Observer, very cool. I'd look forward to that. Right now I have no ability to create a log, so BdU can never find out about all my screw-ups at sea.

Warhead, with some tweaking the deck gun can be used in any weather conditions. I'm pretty sure there's a mod somewhere around here that can do it, but otherwise see this thread for how to do it manually.

I hate to mention it... but my number one wish would have to be the SDK. We could meet all the requests suggested above - though maybe not kiwi's suggestion of "aid and comfort" for tired sailors.

...back space to pause...

then hit the "Windows" key. Bring up notepad, or whatever your heart desires to write your Kriegstagebuch. Or if you're really gutsy...don't pause, but things may happen to your boat while you're away being so literary.

I'd like to see an accurate celestial canopy in order to navigate without the built in waypoint tools.
