I'm waiting for this skin too. It's a good thing I just ended a month long patrol in my Type 9... I'm switiching to a 7c, partly because of the shorter patrols, but mostly because fubar's skin looks so damn cool!

Just installed it and tryed it out. Looks indeed very nice and realistic!
I tried also on a VIIB and with just a first look it seemed ok to me.
What detail makes this skin not suitable on a VIIB according to you?

And if I missed that detail, (most likely I did

)is it possible to make a VIIB skin too?

I, too, got the skin. Looks great! I also checked it out on the Type VIIB (via Museum), and the only thing I noticed was the under-bow net cutter looked a little borked. Looked fine otherwise.
