That does seem to be the area which causes the CTD's.
But there might be a session where I am going in and out of the editor as I fix problems with little senario's that I make for myself where it will perform without problems. I have started to retain the error reports in a text file . not that I have had any since my last post. I am happy to report that most of the problems I have ecountered with the editor is to try not to place the platforms too far apart. Any just to recap these CTD's happen either when playing a modified or original mission (so far it hasnt happened when playing the original campaign) and when exiting the editor. And one crash happened inside the editor when I was panning the 3d view around.

Okay this is an error I have gotten before when playing Bill's RSR campaign . It happens during the convoy escorting mission.
I get about 20-25 mins into the mission and then the game CTD's with this error message : AppName: dangerouswaters.exe AppVer: 0.1.0.3 ModName: towedarray.dll ModVer: 0.1.0.0 Offset: 0000635a I dont know if it is the scenario causing this or what. I havent heard of anyone else reporting it so maybe it is just my machine. Just before the crash the sonar kept picking up and dropping a passive contact. It did this about 15 times before finally crashing. Hope this helps. :|\

Ok guys need some help.
Been playing for awhile, usually no big problems. For the last few days, everytime I play my system freezes. Not a CTD, just freezes, unable to make any entries, ctl+alt+del doesnt work, nothing, must manually reboot. Typically about 10-15 minutes into a game. No difference if MP or single, many different maps. USing 1.03 or LWAMI Mod, same problem. No other problems with system ,runs for hours without a hiccup. Specs: HP LAptop AMD64 3500 1GB Pc3200 Ram Radeon Xpress200 GPU Windows XP SP2 All firewalls, spybots, etc off. Any ideas, getting frustrated... Thanks, Swims |

DW was running 100% fine under XP. I installed Vista on a new hard drive and reinstalled DW from the DVD (french boxed edition), applied the 1.04 patch and copied my scenario folder and player specific files.
On Vista DW isnt stable at all. It CTDs whenever I switch to the USNI database for ex. |

Or temperature. It is hot now in Italy isn't it ? Check if there is not too much dust inside your case. It is very common problem these days around here in Czech Republic. Computers dies like flies. But once you clean it up it's ok.
Sometime you also need to change fans, or at least clean the fan blades. Just little of dust on the fan blades can cause turbulences and the fan will just stir the air, without moving it any much. |

Dr. Sid is right about dust in the case, I have to clean my fans and cards about every six months (even in the winter in New England) or the computer just randomly shuts off with no warning while using high-CPU apps. Was causing me a panic until I figured it out!

Is this thread still being monitored by S.C.S ?

Please make the multistation feature more stable otherwise it is completely useless, since the stations cannot be reassigned to the surviving crew. |

Please SCS fix these damn crashes, I had another one today, was playing in multistation on the frigate and the moment I launched a Harpoon on a link contact the game crashed to desktop.
Faulting application dangerouswaters.exe, version 0.1.0.4, faulting module dangerouswaters.exe, version 0.1.0.4, fault address 0x00238a96. The crash report has the same address as the last time. This is a bug, it occured twice on the frigate and at the same exact point. Please issue a little patch or something. |

This thread is completely useless since SCS hasn't given an update in what ? At least a year as far as crash reports are concerned.

You're not alone goldorak. I just had the game crash on me after playing for about four hours in singleplayer, so I don't think it's just multiplayer multistation that's a problem.
I was using LWAMI 3.08 and playing 'Against All Odds' scenario downloaded from Subguru. Things got very heated... I fired three torps at Kusnetsov carrier that was VERY close by at 279 degrees. Torps set to enable at 200 yards. They enabled before they even finished making their 180 degree turn. 3 explosions but I don't know if they did anything to the carrier or not, didn't seem like they did but I wasn't able to watch because I was busy firing a slavo of 6 TASM's with a Harpoon thrown in from tube 3 at the Kirov(all were shot down). I ordered depth of 526 feet(i was at periscope depth, layer at about 318 feet) and then increased speed to 5 knots after my depth had dropped a little. Torps were soon fired at me from 2 different directions. I ordered depth to 756 feet and increased speed to 16 knots. Dropped Passive decoy. I was also turning to the South. Ordered speed to 22 knots. More torps were fired at me(might have been from a third bearing, not sure) and I was receiving pings from distant torp. Dropped Active decoy and it was fairly soon thereafter that the game crashed. Quote:
I also tend to think that we won't being seeing another game from S.C.S. because I don't think DW sold nearly as well as they wanted/hoped for. It's too bad as I do think this is an incredible game! And the multiplayer multistation sounds like it's an awesome feature!! I look forward to trying out some multiplayer in the near future. While I find the graphics to be acceptable I can't help but wonder if the game would have done a lot better if it had a really really good graphics engine, like the Silent Hunter series. Regards

Hey all,
i bought the game 3 days ago (german version, version 1.04), an excellent game so far, but i got a problem with the P-3 Orion. When i change to F7 position (Camera: LLTV, normal...), it happens. I extend the camera and choose one of the cameramodes -->> CTD! In this way, this position is totally useless to me. Any advices what i can do? Sometimes this happens on periscope too! Things i tried: First one: i used windowed mode -> CTD! Second one: start game -> change to desktop (alt +tab), come back to game then it works, but only for one cameramode. When i change to another mode -> CTD! I hope you guys can help or give me some hints, thx!! my systemspecs 2GB DDR2 RAM 800MHz E6300 @ 3,1GHz HD4850 512MB Gigabyte GA965P-DS3 |
