That any merchandise that is either intended to be, or could be considered intended to be, given as a Christmas present must be packaged in a rectangular box.
Any merchant in violation of this edict will suffer death by medium speed torture for the first offense. Sigh, yes, I just spent last night wrapping presents for the grandkids. What is it with toy manufacturers and their packages!?!?!?! All I want is a simple box that I can wrap with my extremely limited wrapping skills. I don't need a multi-faceted polygonal box based on a Fibonacci sequence! I need at least one 90 degree angle ![]() ![]() ![]() As for round packages? No. No. Bad manufacturer. Just. Stop. The vast majority of toys seem to be in any shape container BUT a normal box. Why? Do they really want to discourage Opas and Uncles from doing what they are supposed to do -- spoil the younglings at Christmas Please have mercy on these old arthritic fumbling fingers. Now I have to wrap The Frau's presents but at least most of them come in nice boxes that are easy to wrap.

I leave it all to Moira (except hers of course)... she likes wrapping gifts so I guess she enjoys a challenge these days

The secret is to bring the box into shape before wrapping it. That's what hammers got invented for.
