Yes, it certainly is. Especially considering how hot it was on Saturday when we got to 28 degrees C here in Calgary and it sounds like they had the same if not more. Quite a difference on Sunday when we went for a mothers day drive. That being said, they still need some drenching rain up there. A few showers here and there are not going to make much difference with the extremely dry conditions.

Yes, I hope the fire is getting smaller too ... I watched some of those youtube links and I don't think I could've driven that slow for anyone.
I would've been on the apron or cutting in and out or something.

Shows they have class up north of us

I follow these when they happen and that's the worse I remember. Prayers for those affected by the fires.

No kidding. It would be biblical when the world was smaller.

Despite it all, looks like the damage is not as bad as first thought and certainly won't reach some of the dire forecasts of as much as $9 billion in insurable losses. I remember when we first heard about it at work, some said that half of Ft. McMurray was on fire. When I first saw some of the videos, it wasn't too hard to believe:

Just like in a B grade horror flick, the monster keeps coming back to life. Some oil workers after returning are having to shut down production again.

One thing is for sure. If you're in the market for a bike, be wary of the Canadian Craig's list for a while.

Not prominent news in the UK now but if the bugga is threatening life and property still, it should be.
