Well actually since Daylight Savings Time starts now it'd be more accurate to say that we give an hour to the gods of commerce in the spring and they don't give it back to us until the fall.

Anyway I look at it though it's gonna suck at 05:30 (DST) Monday morning.

Crack of the whip at the crack of dawn.

Spring time travel.

Something along those lines

Gods of commerce?

It's for the children at the bus stop.
It's also for the children who play at governance...
so they can play a full round of golf before the sun sets.

Go to bed an hour earlier on Sunday night to reduce the Monday morning suck factor.

Yeah, can't they just average it with offsetting it to a half hour and be done with it for the year. It's like stationary jetlag.

Nah if it were just about public convenience it would never have been started. It's perceived benefit to business is why i'm getting up an hour early tomorrow.

Why should you care my dear? You're in Idaho.

My maternal grandfather also refused to change his clocks.
Always on CST, or natural circadian standard time if you will.

People used to rise and set with the sun. When the sun set, it was tomorrow.
When the sun rose, they worshipped it.

None of that "Burning the midnight oil BS"

My Grandpa was a farmer and showed a great deal of sense by not adjusting his clocks.
It didn't change when the Rooster crowed or when the sun went down.

All it does is screw up circadian rhythms...
..and give the senators, congress critters and the POTUS extra daylight to play golf.

But, naturally they use the excuse: It's so the kids don't have to wait for the school bus in the dark.

Instead, they get hit by that guy who just lost an hour of sleep.

The real pain is going through a modest but decent watch collection and setting the correct time.
