Words mean things. This is the internet ... do you really think anyone knows what you mean unless you type it? If you type it then everyone is lead to believe that is what you mean. You can not convey emotion or intent unless you specifically type the words that explain them. I have never understood why people believe a reader should "get" someones intention or emotion from an internet post. Many people can read a book and come out with vastly differing emotional attitudes and responses from the words because they read it with their own life experience and education. This forum is no different than a book. No two people will have the same response to a single post because no two people are alike in every way. If one wishes to convey their intent and their thoughts one must be more specific than if you were speaking in person. At least in person an individual can read body language and hear tones of voice and the emotional they carry. You do not have that luxury in typed text.

I'm not sure if it was luck or fate, but it seems the ships of the First Air Fleet lived under a cloud after Dec 7th, 1941. The last actual warship of the group, the heavy cruiser Tone, was sunk in Kure Harbor by carrier planes just weeks before the surrender. The last destroyers in the group took part in the Yamato's suicide sortie and didn't survive either. Last edited by Dread Knot; 05-27-14 at 08:02 AM. |
