Yea, I can find several remarks as such and all the bloomer info online, but the way it's used it the 30's seems to imply {sex tease.} Seems strange it would be a CW reference, more likely WW1.

Again, in both movies I've heard the statement, it was before code and both women were married, but came close to stepping out. As with Bette, she was being a big flirt, the man asked her to go to his house for the night. She flirted, like she might, then said something like "We best not do that", then he told her not to act like a PWBG. Course, after she said no, she saw her husband having dinner with another woman and left with the man, so I guess the bloomers came off afterall...

Bloomer girls are like bloomers(the item of clothing). Difficult, complicated and hard to get into.

Yet apparently they were an improvement over hoop skirts and other more medieval women's fashions. The sheer mechanics of undressing a woman was mind boggling. Makes us wonder how we managed to procreate in those days.

Must have been quite a handy tool on its day

You only hate them because you get them wrong so much. Besides, it wasn't a history or spelling lesson. You got the poor woman's name wrong.

I haven't peed anything. I merely pointed it out. You seem to be the one with his bloomers in a twist over it.

A pre-war bloomer girl was probably a derogatory reference toward a tease. The ladies in the factories of the day wore the coveralls pictured here. They were called Bloomers because they resembled late, late 1800's style ladies underwear. On a side note; I wonder what that doughboy is holding in his right hand with that wry smile?
Oh, wait. It's a cannon lanyard.

Or she was a baseball player in the latter half of the 1800's...

Or maybe Bettie was being called Roger Hornsby?

I dunno.
That girl is Hitler cross-dressing, the moustache is a dead give away

I'll get my coat.

You've corrected me 3 times this month for spelling, misuse, ect. Steve, only one correction this month.

You're a Pot!

I use to enjoy when my wife dressed like that. We would go to ball dances during CW re-enactments. I rather enjoyed working my way through the lace, garters, bloomers, hoops, etc...

Neener to you Pa Kettle!
What does ECT (Electro Convulsive Therapy) have to do with the topic? Et cetera or etcetera is abbreviated etc.

I'm not dogging you. That's Bear's job. Just edumacating.
If Steve only got you once, he's either laying down on the job or deemed you a hopeless case and given up.

That would be a button up-union suit with trapdoor; Sailor Steve does not crossdress!
