Reminds me of a story the comedian Louie CK told on the Opie and Anthony show, about him sighting and calling in what he thought was a sub in the Hudson River, when taking Chris Rock on a boat trip...

It ended up being a mooring ball, the toolbag circled it for 2 hours.

It's ok, Us southern boys don't get upset because when the civil war broke out, we thought the Yanks were after our whiskey and our women. As soon as we learned what you really wanted, we just quit and went home.

And then the African country of Liberia was born. Mostly autonomous until someone discovered gold there.

Nice to see non-biased moderators at work. A Yankee feels insulted and mentions something about Southerners and he gets jumped on. Yet I have seen so many groups of people get insulted on this site. Gay's, Muslims, Women, Blacks....In fact a thread opened after this one referring to Austrians as being Strudel Eating Surrender Monkeys and all of them being compared to Hitler, I see no warnings in that thread. Or maybe some people just don't count.

As I said, his first comment, about tarring all with the same brush, was valid. I agree. I only questioned his retaliatory reply after that. If he was joking, fine. I have no way of telling over the internet. As I also said, my main intent was trying to divert another big fight. If I was wrong about his intent, fine. I'll gladly apologize.

As for insulting other groups, people have also been warned about that, and even brigged. The Austrian thread? I haven't said anything because I thought it was some kind of joke. Anytime you feel someone has been unfairly insulted, please feel free to report it.

And as for bias? I'm not a Yankee by birth or by location, but I firmly believe the South was wrong. Not trying to start another discussion here, just letting you know my actual bias, if any.

Really I dont care about the whole North/South thing it is a great example of how a major issue was never resolved effectively and weak compromise after weak compromise lead to a war.

I see a lot of guys down here in Florida wearing those "Dixie Outfitters" clothes so I asked once this man that was wearing one of their shirts.Where did his family come from.Answer Massachusetts.

Honestly people from different regions of the US have good qualities people that I met from New York(the state) Mass,Pennsylvania they are pretty good honest workers.

The stuff I say about north/south is just banter we used to do it a lot in the military at least the units I was in we did just BS really.Pick on each others words soda,pop,cola.
