I've not given it much thought tbh but Kevins brother Stephen lives a few doors away from me and his nephew Ryan went right through schooling with my son.

I was going to ask Stephen what his thoughts were over the weekend.

If nobody is parachuted in (which I doubt will happen) then my money is on another local politician but it would be foolish of me to speculate in public.

South Shields is one of the safest Labour seats in the country so I should imagine many people will be interested.
