Honestly, I couldn't tell you.
I was recently trolling for a BoB-centric sim (settled on BoB II at the end of the day), and came across that deal. |

Thanks, Carl. I decided to pull the trigger and bought it from gamesrocket.com

Hope you enjoy it! The learning curve can be quite steep and the setup can take some time to get how you like it but its great fun!

No worries
![]() The learning curve shouldn't be too steep, i've been playing IL-2 1946 for a little while so i know the basics. How would you say the flight model compare if you played 1946? You're right on the setup though, it does take some time but i was aware of this before i bought the game. I'm starting to get something decent though. Should start my first training sorties soon ![]()

With regards to the flight models: they are not 100% and suffer from some speed issues and height limitations: engaging at contrail height is pretty much off the cards as the vast majority of aircraft cannot reach their historical operational ceilings, anything below 6000m is absolutely fine though.
Personally I find the CloD models better than IL2 46 (unmodded) as it feels like there is much more depth there. Once you have your controls setup properly the feeling in the stick is much nicer than enything in 46. There is quiet a big jump between 46 and CloD in terms of aircraft management if you are running CEM switch on but the more stick time you get the quicker you'll get your head around it all. One hint I have, even if you want to run "full switch" make sure you don't tick anphromorphic controls to ON - its pretty bugged especially if you are like me and have a self-calibrating stick, because of this the vast majority of servers have this option off.
