Glad you got it sorted out

two bonus suggestions for making your SH5 experience more enjoyable, if you don't mind:

- never thrust Ubisoft 100%

- sometimes newcomers are a bit hasty about playing the game, getting "nonchalant" about reading readme's and instruction available on subsim forum. Had you read carefully the post #5 in this thread, it would have spared you from racking your brain until now!

Yup mate, you are right. Problem is, I'm not so young anymore and SHV makes for a very small portion of my life although I really love it. I came from the SHIII days, so I'm not totally new at it.

However, I cannot spend all my time reading through everything posted here, although I've read quite a lot already.

There was a time in my life that I just about lived for the various flight sim forums and I created many updates myself for it which are still available for download even to this day. You'll also find a lot of software contributions from me to the Yamaha keyboard community. However, that kind of lifestyle cost me my first wife & I'll never go that route again - just not worth it.

Just a kind pointer, my actual question was and still remain: Is there an next & previous object view camera as per SHIII & SHIV? I loved that feature. It's like watching a movie in the midst of all the action & I really miss it.

I'm not a hardcore subsim player who's all out for realism & being in the dark for most of the time. Yes, I like intelligent enemy & I always install those kinda mods. However, I've always played the game my way & I enjoy it thoroughly.

I'm so glad someone pointed out how to achieve automatic targeting & it really works fine. I missed that feature a lot in SHV

Tx for your help & kind advice mate,

HennivR

You can bind keys in data/cfg/commands.cfg. Do a serch for next unit and previous unit.

If you install the mod 'NewUIs_TDC_7_1_0 by TheDarkWraith' you will have that option to go to next & previous object view camera.

I see your point about family/playing games, and how could I disagree with it?

As said by kiwi_2005, there's a function in NewUIs for moving the camera on units around our sub, but afaik no chase view, for following our sub in external camera... obviously I can be wrong on this last point, so keep checking this thread for any update by other subsim members.

ok i might of got this wrong but isn't the chase camera meaning the camera follows your uboat, DW UI has this option. Otherwise what is the chase camera?

Yes,

That's what I want, a camera that can pan around my sub, even underwater and follow me instead of leaving me behind watching my sub sail off into the sunset.

Tx for the advice - I'll check it out.

MMM does not have the latest version (7.1.0) of my UIs mod. You'd have to enable it after MMM to be using the latest version.

Great,

How do I install it and still have my map updates? (Even if down scaled a bit like in MMM) I tried it as a stand alone version before (your ui mod) and even without real navigation, I think I did not have my normal sonar contacts shown on the map (I might be wrong here, I'll try again) Also, I'd like to stick to auto torpedo targeting like suggested on this forum.

I also installed your mega mod, but the realism (talking map updates here) is too high for me. As stated, I'm not really after authenticity, but rather nice & enjoyable game-play. And I stick to the missions most of the time.

Another thing, even with MMM installed, my flak gun operator does not start shooting at attacking planes like per SHIII & IV. Am I just missing something here? Is it mandatory for me to first lock the target before he starts shooting? It was not the case with the other SH versions.

As you realize by now, I'm one of the sissy players, but I thoroughly enjoy the sim in my own sort of way back from the SHIII days.

Tx for all your help & advice - It's really appreciated!

Kind regards,
HennivR
