No way...the beer at my local social club has just sky rocketed 20p a pinto to £1.35

Brighams is one of only a few social clubs left in South Shields that is still doing ok, I remember a couple of years ago there was a documentary on TV about how social clubs are struggling to make ends meet and the tv cameras paid a visit to Brighams to show its not all doom and gloom for the CIU clubs as they had almost a million pound in the bank at the time. These days I do not get down town as much but we sometimes call in there for a few beers as they have the cheapest prices going (they only put the price up from a pound a pint a short while back) and the club is situated bang in the middle of the town centre so you only have a few yards to walk for a large selection of other pubs & clubs to choose from on your night out.
