I always dove when aircraft were around anyway. I've never tried engaging them.
What order do I install it in? GWX, SH3 Commander, Commander Cfg files, then extra ammo? |

I figured as much, but I really didn't want to screw it up since I'd have to download SH3 again if I had to uninstall it. Stupid steam.
How much ammo is the extra ammo mod supposed to add? Cuz I just did my first patrol in GWX and it didn't seem like I had much ammo. Maybe it's just because I was used to the amount I had in my other SH3 careers. Is there a max limit on how much ammo I can add to the deck gun? I know you said 260 in the other thread then said something about adding another slot? It seems to take an awful lot of HE to destroy ships in GWX, so I'm hoping I can add more then 260. And does GWX not have AP? I used that all the time below the waterline, but I never noticed it in the deck gun tutorial or my first patrol. I'm not liking the new binos at all. I really miss the reticule. But I guess I'll get used to it eventually. |

There is probably a mod to add the reticules back in - removed in GWX as didnt have in RL - have a look in the DL section of Subsim
Same for the AP rounds - as an AP round is only used against armoured ships no point in uboats carrying as not gonna duke it out with a DD or higher. Besides ingame there is no difference between the damage done by either shell You can try upping the DG ammo been so long since looked at any of those parts of the game cant remember much of it As you can tell already GWX is a lot less arcade than stock |

I tried adding more ammo but I ended up screwing it up apparently to the point where I had absolutely no ammo for the deck gun. So I'm now downloading and installing SH3 for the 4th time!
I've looked through most of the mods on subsim. I guess it's not too big a deal, I just have to get used to it. And yeah, it's definitely a lot more real then stock sh3, I think I'll definitely like it. Just might take me awhile to figure out how to play it properly. |

I don't know what the hell happened, but I did another fresh install of SH3, GWX, JSGME, SH3 Commander, Commander Cfg files, Extra Ammo, and Deck guns in any weather, all in that order, and enabled them in JSGME, but now my deck gun has 0 rounds. I haven't edited any files, I've just used the ones included in the mods. I don't really want to have to do another download and fresh install, especially if it's going to happen again. Is there somewhere in the registry or something that I have to go to delete all the SH3 files after I delete and before I do a fresh install? I'm using Windows 7, and I've been away from PC's for quite awhile, so I forgot most of the stuff I used to know about them, such as editing the registry and other important ****.
Any suggestions? Do I have to do another fresh install or is there something else I can do? |

You can try turning UAC off - if indeed on http://www.mydigitallife.info/how-to...-in-windows-7/ As said earlier this usually only applies to programs installed in the Program Files folder - Windows grabs certain files to store then puts them back when program starts - messing up any added mods. Though as you have 0 shells something deffo odd there Try just SH3 and GWX without any mods on |

UAC is off, that's the first thing I do on any PC I touch, even other peoples! God I hate that crap.
If it is Windows changing the files in the Program Files directory, is there any way to force Steam to install in a different directory? Do you mean try running it with the mods in JSGME disabled, or should I uninstall/delete everything again and just install SH3 and GWX, then try it? |

I tried it by just deactivating the mods through JSGME, but still no joy. So I've uninstalled SH3, and SH3 Commander, downloaded a registry cleaner(hopefully it's a good one), and will install it all again fresh later once I've downloaded it again from steam. Damnit, I wish my disc worked with Windows 7!
For GWX, is there an Uninstall program, or do you just delete it from your SH3 directory? |

No there is no uninstall for GWX
Once installed from Steam try relocating the SilentHunterIII folder to somewhere else C:/Games or something Before adding GWX |
