Yes, we are also outsourcing here - into the 3rd world of brewing
In return we brew Duff here: http://www.duff-bier.de/cms/
Even weird stuff like Duff Grape(fruit):

Oh, and it makes sense to brew beer locally, alone regarding transportation. These industry beers taste always the same anyway, local indegredients don't make so much differences to their taste. Like Schroeder said, the main brewery is still in Bremen, but for example "my" Beck's is made in a brewery in the West (Issum).

The only sort of beer that I know which has a distinguable taste and also different alcohol strength in different countries is Guinness, sfsik the strongest Guniness is brewed somewhere in Africa.

That being said Beck's is overrated anyway - I don't like the grass smell when you open a bottle: yuck!

And to destroy one myth regarding u-boats: Beck's was not the standard beer; though SH3 and the "Boot" movie both featured it. I think this comes from the cases of Beck's they found on U-570. In reality they packed the beer brand on the subs which was available at the port.

How would you know...it hasn't been that long since you reached the lawful age to drink it

This thread has "Bud" in the opening post... I'd say it's a thread about pee.

Becks is in the same category as Milwaulkees Best and Meister Brau.

Dog-piss made in America is the same as dogpiss made in Europe.

A full step below Natural Ice, and slighly above Miller.

Real Americans drink Yuengling. Oldest American Brewery, and still american owned. The other American beer "crudwieser" is owned by the Dutch now.

Yep according to Wikipedia Yuengling is Obama's favorite beer.Yuengling is ok it is a nice simple beer nothing complex about it is far superior to any American style lager made by a large brewer but I would not say that drinking one makes you a real american perhaps a real Pennsylvanian which is the state in which Yuengling is most popular alot of eateries down here in Florida also serve it.Crudwiser or Budweiser is owned by a Belgian company not a Dutch one but the company Anheuser-Busch InBev N.V. does own one of the most popular Dutch beers Juliper.

There are several small and medium sized brewers in the US that are owned by Americans that make an outstanding product way better than any of the larger companies.

My favorite american regional beer would be Abita.

Just to prove they exist!

Might be an east coast thing.

It has more body than most American Pisswasser.

krashkart is from the Czech Republic I dont think Yuengling markets too much outside the US might not be known much west of the Mississippi either.Yuengling producers a lot more barrels than
the second largest American owned brewer Sam Adams 1,500,000 barrels per year Yuengling puts out around 3 million per year.Of course in reality the reason that the worlds largest breweries are owned by conglomerates is because the original owner got a good deal I am sure with the holdings that they get the old owners make much more money than they did separately. You tempt an owner with enough money in most cases he will sell.Anheuser-Busch InBev made a profit of US $4.026 billion in 2010.

If you are a Union man dont drink Yuengling:

"After management threatened to shut down the factory and close shop if workers kept union representation, Yuengling employees filed for union decertification in 2006. As a result, Yuengling did not renew a contract with Teamsters Local 830 of Philadelphia in March 2006.[13] In response, the trade union began boycotting Yuengling products."

Yes stealhead Belgian, not Dutch on the Bud, my apologies.

I am a jersey boy. Which may explain my familiarity and favor of the brand.
Obama only likes it because someone told him it was Americas oldest Brewery. Obama most likely pukes after 3 beers, or gets yelled at by his wife for being a drunk, either way, I can't picture him in a bar tying one on.

I remember the old GTA:SA mock radio ad about "pisswasser" beer, and think of Bud every time.

Yes Bud is piss. something we can internationally agree upon...But at least we serve our urine cold.

On a side note, I enjoyed Ranier beer when I was in Washington state, very good local stuff!

So where is 'around here'?

I'm sorry but I'm a little intrigued with geography and opinions

Obama probably got introduced to it while in D.C. they probably serve it at the many restaurants in D.C. that cater to bureaucrats.Of course like him or not it certainly dose not hurt the bottom line of Yuengling.

I first heard of Yuengling as a teenager working at a St. Augustine restaurant
most of the kitchen staff drank them all night while cooking.

It is a good american lager though I think largely because of the relative size of the company the larger you get the lower your taste is going to get generally speaking the huge brewers have to use lower quality ingredients which results in less flavor full beer.

The adage that Europeans serve warm beer is largely a myth though most likely created by the big American brewers to make people not want to try a competing beer.It depends on the type of brew actually some are supposed to have better taste and body warm.
