Clay from what I've seen FOTRS might just be the best mod for you.
It's based on an older version of TMO and they have taken it from there, added lots of new ships and has the improved graphics and has fixed most of the game problems. There are lots of ships and convoys etc. to shoot but the escorts aren't as deadly as the newest TMO.

Here is the link to the FORTS thread, read through it and you'll get a very good idea of what the mod is about.

Real Fleetboats RFB doesn't seem to be your type of mod.

I think that Captn Scurvy did a version of his Max Optics mod for FORTS, if so that would be a good one for you, it has a very nice orders bar (HUD) and a nice big periscope view. If your eyes are like mine this is very helpful. This is what I use.
edit. This version MAY work with FORTS.

Give it a try if it works than you are good to go.

I wouldn't add any more for a time till you get use to the game.

I haven't played FORTS for some time but I enjoyed when I did play it.

I recommend TMO 2.5 and RSRDC.

Default Have to agree : TMO + RSRDC

I have to agree here with USS Drum that TMO 2.5 + RSRDC makes for an INTERESTING and historically accurate setup that will let you fight through the whole war -- assuming of course that you don't go up against a DD with your deck gun or some other such foolishness.

Of course mods installed via JSGME
. I am currently playing at 85% realism ... no cameras, but Automatic targeting -- my XO and WEPS can figure all that out for me! Maybe next campaign I'll try manual targeting.

My setup currently is as follows:

TMO 2.5
RSRDC_TMO V502
RSRDC V5xx Patch1
TMO Visuals for RSRDC
Fixed Zero Bomb Load RSRDC
Fixed CD Sonar RSRDc
Max Optics for TMO_2
OPCF green
3000 yd Bearing Tool (1440x)

Any comments and / or suggestions on other mods, etc. are welcomed!!

Thanks so much again to all the modders and what they've done to make a good game GREAT! And thanks to the forum commenters and the information and experiences they share so freely.

Athlon 64 Processor 4000, 4 gig memory, HP 16x9 19" monitor. Ditched the on-board NVIDIA Geforce 6150 for a newer Geforce 8400 GS card. and running XP Pro .. frame rates are a bit slow, but it works fine...
