It's over here: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=174225

Next to the version "E" in the opening post you'll find a new version "F" in testing stage on h.sie's page.

Here is a link to Stiebler's work:
http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=181352

It goes hand in hand with h.sie's work. There is something that Stiebler came up with that even allows you to select what portions of these fixes you want if you don't want to play with them all. Really allows you to customize the realism fixes to your own taste.

Archeologists holding onto your periscope can also cause that

Yes, that's Indiana Jones holding on a periscope in a deleted scene from Raiders of the Lost Ark lol

I jost tested in SM at 8kts and it's clear and no vibrations or damage.

That was only in GWX without Stieblers mod.

Jake,

I assume you are running 100% realism settings? I found that even the slightest glimpse of the outside world using F12 massively increased my situational awareness and made my life too easy. Also map contacts and importantly the contact lines from the hydrophone give you a huge, unrealistic, advantage.

After that I would highly recommend H.sie's mod.

For me the 2 biggest remaining advantages are the ability to maintain depth at 0 kts, and limited aircraft attacks with TC. the first makes attacks way too easy and the second means that by far the single biggest threat to U-boats is negated unless you want to endure hours / days of real life crossing the Atlantic.
