Or rather I don't see how it would benefit Canada. We are not in a recession. Our housing sector is fine as are our banks. Our per capita debt is 1/3 that of the US. We have plenty of Oil, natural resources, clean water. Our crime rate is 1/10 that of the US. why on earth would we want to join the US?

Btw I am in Miami sipping a beer as I write this.

"illegal ownership is 20% here (this includes legal owners who have too many or non-registered weapons)"

How can you expect a stat about anything illegal to be accurate? At best a stat on something that is illegal and not tracked as something legal like legally owning a gun would be the only thing to go on would be those caught violating the law and basically just guessing from there.

Maybe they have better statisticians in Germany I just dont see how they can say that the level is 20% and you say that this includes legal owners who have too many guns how much of that 20% are they? All I can say is that I was stationed near Kaiserslaughtern Germany for almost 3 years and I did not hear of any violent crimes involving a gun in that area when I was there and several German nationals worked for my unit and the military kept us informed about local criminal activity.

Interesting that so many people kill them selves with guns though. I guess people do it that way because it seems most reliable and painless which it is I'd guess but people do survive even head shoots. MY dentist told me once when he did his required hospital time years ago that some guy came in the ER who had shoot himself in the mouth(with the barrel up towards his brain) it was a .32 cal bullet and it hit one of his molars blew it apart and bounced up and hit the roof of his mouth and broke his "roof of the mouth bone" the pallet I guess they call it.Of course if they did not have a gun on hand theyd have done the deed with something else.

from a position o pure viability: for canada to become incorporated into a new united states, it would be a walk in the park. Economically, politically, everything would work out with the minimum of fuss and only incremental changes.

For mexico to join would permanently alter the economic and political structure of the rest of north america in short order.

What is in fact to gain from this? For anyone?

Let alone the disadvantages for the US and Canada, Mexico's oligarchs would be obliged to live with US anti-trust and anti corruption laws! I'd like to see them ratify that!

Canada has always backed up the US since WW2, even siding with the US against Britain and France in the 56 Suez crisis. the only time we did not go along was....Vietnam and Iraq. Maybe you guys should listen to us more often...

Oh Canada

Every time we visited we were treated like old friends by their Navy and Coast Guard.

When we would transit through the Detroit River in the early 80's it was amazing to see the difference between Detroit and Windsor. On one side a war zone on the other a quiet and clean city park.

"Harper is seeking a majority government (for the 4th time) in order to implement this treasonous agenda."

Well, at least the journalist puts his bias right up front where everyone can see it! lol
