That is classic.

I have a quote,

I can see why, he tears off into the rant, I think many rehearse in their own minds, but can't let loose for one reason or another.

You know, i do long for a simpler existence. Id rather work with my hands and create or fix things. At least then i'd get some sense of satisfication with my place in the world.

The cube, was attractive at first after busting my ass in the service, but it's a cubby hole, and i miss being outdoors. One days the same as the next. Fiance asks, how was your day sweety? Same as the last day, and the day before that and the day before that. Same **** different day. Your whole existence, the reason for your being in an office environment, is to make the stuffed suit in some upper office somewhere, filthy rich. A meaningless cog without soul that is to be replaced on the whim.

I'm not worried about layoffs. I bitch about them, but in an odd sense im not worried. It's time for me to move on anyway. The only thing that is scary, is "what will i do next?" and "how long will it take me to find it?".

The simpler existance is less stressing. Let's put it this way, I know many ditch diggers who are the happiest people in the world. Work is work and stays at work. A six pack, pizza and lady friend is all he really needs. When you get to the upper echelon were reponsibility is put upon you life can get a bit crappy. For me, I have a cell phone strapped to arse I never ever leave work as long as that damn thing is strapped to my arse. In being so I would expect my pay to be a bit better. I used to cut grass when I was a kid. Great job. Got lost in my own thoughts as I cut and it provide enough for gas/beer/smokes and a lady friend. Good times and less gray hair.
