Indeed and I'm keeping regular backups now and use much stronger passwords and change it regularly.
But after second thought the rootkits may have come from one of the disc I installed myself or one of the downloads that get installed. Thanks everyone but this thread doesn't deserve another page ![]() Edit: Just found another rootkit that gets installed. I've only installed so few commonly used software and few all legitimate games. Removed it. Scanned again and it seemed to be clean only to find the same rootkit again 15 minutes later! This is only day 2 of freshly installed windows(updated). I don't get it I have security installed and strong password. Then again COMODO has put too many questionable parties in their trusted vendor list. I have nothing remotely interesting in my PC! I don't even save porn.
