Ok war in the pacific and war in the atlantic were two VERY different monsters. The uboats were going toe to toe with the BEST navy in the known world.

The war in the pacific I cannot say the same.

And okay you can FLOOD me with reasons why fleet boats are more fun then my Uboot. ok. Let me just say its preference.

I want to play the Nazis.. since day one I've played the American soldier, dominating this and that, I AM American.. it gets old. Everywar game ever has you playing the US pretty much.

I want to be the underdog, and I want to be the "bad guy" so to speak. Plus its like saying a guy likes old corvettes.. yeah I can blow your doors off with my 2011 lambo... but your 69 sting ray is pretty darn sexy...

This is also mostly rambling...

I look at the SH series like I do rFactor.....The game you buy is nothing but a mod platform.....Worthless by itself.

And that is the bottom line, as well as the only real answer. Anything about how one was better, or had it worse, or any of the other things people always bring up in these arguments, is useless fluff. The only real reason people prefer one over the other is because they do.

And I still like both.

Just for the record, the only reason i wrote my last post, was because 3 different people touched on the same subject. Otherwise, id have kept my yap shut. It's not my intention to rehash another fleetboat vs uboat argument. Everyone walks away angry, more polarized into this Us vs them mindset, with horse blinders firmly in place.

For anyone who's truly interested in WW2 diesel submarines and submarine warfare in general, id encourage you to explore both theaters with equal zeal. Your really missing out if you don't.

agreed. Being a skipper of a U.S. boat in the Pacific in SH4 or a Kaleun of a U-Boat in the Atlantic in SH5 can be as fun and challenging.
