No offense was taken. I just assumed you probably were not familiar with the area.

My neighbor was just there a week ago. I have been there several times until 2 and 3 am and never felt in danger. just one big party

I guess for the Marine it's a bad case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

sad for the family and friends of the marine.

and as for the scum that did it....1 solution I would have for them...against the wall.

Just to be an argumentative prick...

Are we upset because someone was murdered?
or are we upset because a Marine was murdered?

If the latter, why would the loss of a Marine's life be any different from the loss of any other citizen's life?

In 2009 there were 173 homicides in New Orleans (US Bureau of Justice Statistics).

As of June 2010 there have been 93 homicides in New Orleans.

This Marine's murder is tragic, but is it "more" tragic than the other citizens who have been murdered there? If so, why?

Just wondering why the "outrage" at this one murder but no outrage about the other 93 this year.

Is it because this one made the news and we are aware of it?

And the other 93 people murdered did not do anything heroic? How do we know this?

Here is my point: This is another example of the public being manipulated by the media. We get spun up over this story because the media want's us to be spun up.
