Thanks again, you guys are great. I wanted to play the U-Boat addon but if its not supported then I wont play it.

There is another add-on called - Seawolves: Submarines on Hunt

Do you guys support this? Or does it also include stolen work?

Thanks

I mean the U-Boat mod was not supported here because some of the work was stolen from what I understand.

I was wondering if this other add-on is the same story.

GWX it is good, a great add-on to the SH3,

and it gives a character and an effect which must be experienced, but I guess you already know this, and want something even better, but you have the opportunity to add different mods to GWX which may be an even better experience, you decide, good luck!

AFAIK there has never been an official add-on for SH3.

There's the stock game + patches put out by Ubisoft, and that's it as far as official, licensed product which can be legally sold for profit by those who have the right to do so. (Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.)

Anything else would fall under the category of an unofficial mod, and there are plenty of those available for free without giving money to a third party who may already be on shaky legal ground even if they didn't steal what they're selling from someone else who did the work for fun and not for profit.

Regarding Submarines On Hunt, see here:

Exactly the answer I was looking for. Thank you. I will just use GWX3.0 - I played 1 new mission and I love it!

The mission was to patrol grid OST - And i couldn't find any OST grid on my map!! But I love the port dock shown on the map, really helpful!

Anyone know where grid OST is? LOL

Patrol grids are usually indicated by a two-letter, two-number combination... BE11, AN32, etc. Coordinates that are "off the grid" shown on the nav map in the game are given in latitude/longitude IIRC.

I got no clue on what "OST" might refer to, other than being German for "EAST"... do you remember which mission you selected?

That's the Ostsee, I think, in German. Actually though I think that's the Baltic(?).

I've just never encountered mission orders that give a patrol grid of "OST" - it's always been an actual square on the grid.

But then I haven't played a single mission in ages and never have played most of them, which is why I wondered which mission it was.

The Ostsee is north of Germany and Poland, where you had your Convoy excercises while in der Marine Schule. AND also known as the Baltic Sea.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baltic_Sea

I think that OST region indeed refers to the East part of the Black Sea. (North of Turkey) Knowing which Flotilla he joined should solve this puzzle.

Just to clarify: do you mean you have selected another single mission to play, or that you're on the second patrol of a career? Because "mission" usually refers to playing in single mission mode, and "career" usually refers to playing a series of patrols in career mode.

Okay, thanks.

I haven't played outside the Atlantic but it sounds like maybe in those other operational areas patrol assignments are given via some kind of geographical abbreviation - OST = East, INDOZN = Indonesia, etc.

Someone who has played those areas can surely confirm this? Good thing to know in case I ever end up out there myself.

I went everywhere that has a IND or OZN in it. Still says incomplete.
